I wouldnt buy those, thats for the pre 90s blazers it wont even bolt up to sy/ty. Thats a 3 piece set, sytys have the light housing and grille all as one thing, ill try to get pics up from my blazer that has a chrome grille.

I figured it wouldnt bolt right up, what im wondering is how bad is it to get them to work, given the front ends on the things aren't that different in those years.........

That grille will bolt right up, very easy install, I forget where I bought it though its been a while..

Thats not bad, I would have to paint the chrome white, but im liking the billet...I still would like to break the grill and lights up tho....

Any idea where you bought it???shop, internet?? Ive been looking for a few now and im not seeing any decent looking grills for the Ty's...........

Personally I kind of think the stock grille on the sytys looks perfect, that money could be spent elsewhere, like to go faster :2cents:

The early S trucks with the 3 piece grille have the headlights mounted higher in the core support so its actually a PIA to back date a newer truck or update an older truck and have it look correctly. Everything will interchange but the head lights wont be centered in the grill/headlight surround vertically.

Im with everyone else...your money is prolly best spent elsewhere but its your money :2cents:

Agreed the money could be spent elsewhere, it already has been..Im currently sitting on a full build 4.3l and am in the process of doing a th400 swap...So, I was looking to put a couple extra bux into cosmetics..Seeing its already lowered on Zr1's, and the paint and cladding is in good ( 7 outa 10) condition, I would look for something as far as a new grill goes. The only things catching my eye is the way the 3 piece looks as opposed to the solid, and getting it to work I dont think is guna be impossible, thats why i was asking for input...If no one has done this, well then Ill be sure to post pics when its done

I hear ya and like I said it can be done but the head light locations in the core support are in different locations depending on if it was an early truck (three piece grill) or a late model (one piece grill). If you can live with the headlights being ~1/4" off vertically and not centered in the opening then its a bolt in deal. If you cant live with it then swapping the core supports will be on your list of things to do.

Only reason I know any of the above is I updated an 86 s10 with a late one piece grill under the same assumption that "theyre all the same" and ran into the head light height deal. You couldnt really tell the head lights werent centered from ~10' away but it bugged the crap out of me until I changed the core support to reposition the head lights.

I'm kinda partial to the stock grill.. Anything else is a downgrade IMO...

GOod info, ill take that into consideration....The only reason im leaning towards doing this is because there isnt crap out there for a direct replacement...YES the stock grill is ok, but I like different, and if there was something in the lines of a solid grill replacement, I would do it, but im not see'in sheeeit.

I don't know if these will help give you a idea, but here is a older blazer with a newer grill. Notice the lights are pushed to upper corners instead of being centered, I know it would bother me.

Here's some pics of my grill, it looks like a billitt insert or something, I'm not sure what it was in there when I got the truck. Yes I know the shell is broke and I have one to replace it, just got other stuff to do first
