for those of you that needed to know how to get those damn manifolds back on here is an option.

simply 2 1/2"x1 1/2" bolts and a coupler.

I bought a set of these in Lisle a few years ago to help put on a set of S10 manifolds.....worked awesome, but the manifolds were the thin, tube style. Tried on my spare set of SyTy manifolds last year and they didn't seem to be beefy enough for our style. John's design may work better with a 7/16 or bigger bolt, but the 3/8 Lisle ones seemed like they were about to bust. Also, making them stretch great distances can be a chore.

YMMV,

my stockers sat on a shelf for years and severely shrank...way off...around 1/4 inch total both sides combined...weird thing is that both manifolds were way off...maybe more time off means more shrinkage...i didn't have much success spreading between the middle and outer runner as pictured...when i figured out a way to spread the two outermost runners, it worked like a charm and they spread with less effort...most of what i came up with in searching here showed me that most peoples manifolds required much less stretch to fit than mine...so i can see how john's neat tool should do the trick for most folks here... ::eek:k::

let it be known that I used the torch on the long part of the runner to soften it up before I attempte this. try it on cold cast iron and it's very prone to break and not bend.
