Heads question

I have a 94 s-10 blazer, with the 'high output' vortec 4.3...

now i know its a vortec but does this engine have the same vortec heads that everyone upgrades to?

no. you have L35's on there.

ahh ok, aren't there some people running the L35s though?

Didn't Tooky allegedly have L35s at the nats that one year? i remember reading about "the great stock class conspiracy of 02", everyone was accusing him of cheating haha a bunch of people got all worked up over that shit hahaha ahhhhh good times.

anyway, the reason im askin is that im thinkin about junking my blazer and was wondering if it would be worth it to tear down the engine to put the heads on my sy? is there really a significant difference or would i need to do a port n polish to really notice anything?

the only way I'd use L35's at this point was if you had them sitting there and had to put the truck together for some reason. take the time and invest the money and go vortec's. it's not worth it to just swap them.

what? So now the L35's aren't any better than stock heads?

I'd swap them.

There somewhat better,You can through a little more timing at them.But just save up and do Vortecs

well right now the truck and the engine are complete, so im not sure if im going to try and unload the whole truck for like 1000 or if im going to part it out... shipping parts is a major PITA!!! but we'll talk more at Bob's and i'll let ya know what I'm gonna do
