Hello from Down Under

Howdy ya'll...I'm a Texas transplant that is now living in Perth Australia.
One thing I really miss about the states is being able to buy car stuff pretty cheap.
Here in OZ things tend to be pretty steep on on 5.7 and 350 stuff.
Not to mention the laws here about moding cars just suck.
Any way I'm looking to get/build a syty type motor to go into my Holden commodore
But I just cant seem to find all the parts and pieces for it. I can get blocks and what have you here but the intake and fuel injection system i'm having probs locating.
Any help weould be great and I'll post a pic of my car when I get a chance to wash it and take the camera outside :p
Thanks in Advance
Rex

Re: Hello from Down Under

Hey Rex,
I have always wanted to live in Australia, if not at least visit. I am a bit envious.

I am taking a sebatical from Texas right now but will be going home soon. How about posting some pics of some nice cars from around your area (in the off topic section)? I'd enjoy checking out whatever you care to post.

I gotta ask: Why the choice of a Turbo 4.3 in the Holden? Got pics of the potential project car?

Re: Hello from Down Under

Daron,

Yeah hoping to make a trip back home for a visit... Like they say no place like Texas.
Here they have the 3.8 Buick style motor and most ppl have them turboed or supercharged.
4.3 here mostly a boat motor. With laws here I have to get an Engineer to come certify my car if I want a 350. So for me the logical step was more cubes in a v6 and sine i always thought a syclone would be wicked to own... so I thought maybe this type of hybrid might just be something cool and one thing for sure different.
When I get time this weekend I'll get a couple of snaps of my car and show ya'll whats it going into.
Keep in mind here in Oz 4 door cars is mostly what you see hot rodded. I took me a bit to get my head around it but it does have advantages. Just lacks in the cool factor..LOL
