Hello from the south. (Texas) Registered to expand my knowledge of the truck I have wanted for over a decade. Seems this forum has some very experienced individuals. The threads have been very useful so far. Hope to own a Typhoon in the near future. :myclone:

My current vehicle is a 97 Grand Prix Turbocharged GTP.

Re: Hello

I hope you're patient. Sytys are a little finnicky.

Welcome to hell.
What vehicle isn't? I also have a 1985 5.0 Mustang Coupe. Fords do a nice job at teaching patience. :rotf: If this is hell where is Satan with the baddest Sy/Ty?

That is awesome! You have owned one since new! Ever regret getting rid of the first or are you one of those rare orginal owner guys?

Thanks for the compliament. I enjoy this car. Yes Pontiac only came out with the Supercharged model in this body style. However, those of us who truly get bit by the mod bug convert them to turbo. The S/C is nice, but the turbo makes baby Jesus scream.
If you look at the engine bay picture you can see the snout of the M90 is missing. What I did was remove the blower, took the "guts" of it out, bolted a plate on the side of the M90 case, then reinstalled it. Turning it into a upper manifold. It's kinda deceiving since it still retains the M90 case.

Welcome to hell. Buy one with an 80e and ls swap.....
Although I have a soft spot for LSX swaps and they make my dick hard, I think Sy/Ty's are unique as is. If I were gonna go that route I would just get an 80's Blazer/Jimmy and then do a swap.

What'd your gtp run? I hate to say it but the engine bay mess looks stock, but i know better.
When I went to the track the engine was factory stock with 195K miles. The only thing I changed on the car was adding a turbo (PT-61mm) kit, 42lb injectors, canned tune, LT1 MAF, and 2.5" exhaust piping from turbo back. On wastegate (10 PSI) it ran 8.63 @ 83.3 mph with a 2.0 60 ft in the 1/8th.

Fast forward to now and I have since added 1.9 ratio rockers, a ported front exhaust manifold, MBC (now on 15 PSI), and cutout. I'll be changing the setup a bit, adding a ported TB and adding a UIM off a NA car with lengthened runners. I'll be hitting the track once again in a few weeks. Looking for 7's if i can hook and launch in boost.
