Help needed ASAP WASTEGATE

Ok Tranny went out last week, reseached here to get the proper build.
Went to pick her up tonight and they said the wastegate is locked closed(froze up?)
They won't give me the truck back because they said if I drive it the motor can go?
What are my options? I know the wastegates can rust up, but I read a thread that said
they dont make em anymore. Do I go to an external? Where can I get what I need ASAP? I read the GP on the 3" downpipe, but there is a waiting list? Please help!!

you can still drive it, just dont build any high ammounts of boost untill you fix the wastegate problem and you will be fine.

Here's whacha do....

Follow the wastegate rod from front to back until it ends. Where it ends you'll find a clip of sorts - pull it off and disconnect the rod from the little flappy thing :) If the flappy thing moves your WG is not rusted up. If it doesn't move - you might want to encourage it to move.

Driving with it off will make it seriously slow - but it'll prove to Beavis and Butthead that the WG isn't locked up.

All you really need is some GM heat riser lube and a pair of vise grips.

Mine siezes every winter... only takes a few minutes to free it up again.
This is a nagging problem with long-term storage vehicles, particularly low milers.

I wouldn't know about the whole low miler thing.

Again - I don't think they can keep it. You aren't going to die from blowing your engine (unless of course you're married) :)

Oh it gets better?! I went to pick it up on Friday afternoon and the tranny is still messed up!! Put her down to see if the wastegate was "actually" locked as they stated and the engine reved but the TY only went real slow, second gear hit, she took off threw me in the seat as it should, third gear was GONE-zip zero nadda, reved but just rolled along... Needless to say they are tearing it all apart again to rebuild it all over again. Can this get any worse?
Where do you recommend spraying the GM lube you recommended? Mine truck is as you describe a "low miler" winter sitter. Just turned over 54K when the tranny let loose.
