Help! Transmission Gurus, can you identify what is happening

I am not sure what I am looking at, the transmission is showing no signs of issues other than this, my usual once a year service and fluid change. Filter was not overly dirty, but these fragments were in the bottom of the pan.

i'm guessing those are metal peices.r
it looks like what used to be a spring, probably one of the overrun hub return springs.
i'd say your trans is starting to go, mainly the forward sprag is starting to slip possibly.
start looking for a trans.

Looks like one of your spring retainers is about to punch out. I saw the same thing (not quite as much) in the bottom of my transmission pan when I took the stocker off and bolted my deeper TCI pan back in '01. There was a lot off clutch material on the magnet too. Transmission stayed together for almost a year being "babied" before I lost all forward gears one day on the highway :-? . The shop that did my first rebuild INCORRECTLY :evil: saved all my bad parts. Sprag was torn in two, spring retainer springs were all different lengths and laid over and I stripped ALL the teeth out of my rear planetary carrier. Unfortunately, it's time to start saving for the rebuild including a NEW torque converter. The ONLY way to flush the old one is to have it CUT OPEN and cleaned throughly. Learned the hard way ... yup, you got major problems coming your way, My suggestion is to stop driving right now, before you cost yourself a lot more by continuning to drive on this.
