Here is your warning on a Syclone in Wisconsin!!!!!

Hello all, just thought I'd let all you in on my 6 hour trip Sunday to check out a Sy in Wisc. Here's a little background on what led up to this trip. I found this Sy on E-bay and waited to contact the seller after the auction ended just to see if the truck did sell. The seller told me that the winner never sent in the money for the truck so it was still available if I was interested. I then made an offer and he accepted. Now keep in mind I never actually saw the truck until Sunday with the exception of s few pictures and some very srong words used to describe the truck, MINT-NEVER DRIVEN IN THE WINTER, AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED were just a few. (If anyone wants to see the actual posting I still have it in a word document). Now I realize that everyone has a difference of opinion as it relates to these terms so I wanted to be very specific about them. After 6 e-mails back and forth and numerous pic's of the truck being sent to me I felt comfortable enough to call him and just make sure that we both understood the term MINT, to me meant ONE-NOTCH short of showroom condition. After 2-3 phone conversations with the seller and his wife, they assured me the truck was "absolutely flawless". Pretty strong words I thought! With that said I lined up a car hauler and planned the date for the P/U. I headed out at 6am and arrived at the Sy's locale around 11am that morning. When I arrived the owner started up the Sy with a bit of smoke puffing from the exhaust. I thought "no big deal, just some valve guides". Now in the pic's the paint looked almost perfect in every way and I repeatedly questioned exactly that on all three phone converations. I was always assured it was "original". After going over the truck I realized a sickening feeling in my stomach. You all know the one where in High school your girlfriend thinks she might be--- well you know, anyway the truck was in some type of front-passenger side collision. Not only that but directly behind the bed you could see herendous amounts of overspray, that equivalent to the feeling of braile. No joke there is no way someone "has no prior knowledge of it" B.S if you own the f'in truck you would know it was there. Not only that you could see the mig weld inside the bed where someone sprayed that RHINO lining or equiv. all over the bed to try and hide the repair!!!!!!! To cut to the chase, the radio would blink when you used the right hand turn signal and not to mention on the test drive the FRICKIN turbo didn't even FRICKIN work. The overflow bottle had enough bars leak to plug the titanic and get this, the guy just spent $500 two days before I arrived on wheel bearings, a pitman arm and centerlink! WHAT!!! Why the hell would you spend the coin on that when your buyer is showing up in two days to take it home. Listen, I could go on and on about all the shit that was wrong with this truck but my problem here is that I was told REPEATEDLY of its condition!!!!!! My opinion is the original buyer saw the same crap as me and bailed just like me, except I had to drive 13 plus hours and spend $123 in gas pulling an empty trailer to find out the truth. If anyone wants the VIN# that may look at this truck just let me know and I will gladly send it. Keep this in mind, I drove 13 hours with a certified check in the guys name, had the trailer and was F'in geeked to have a SY finally!! Bottom line the truck was in need of such repair I did'nt even want to try for a lower price. Bottom line#2 If it's too good to be true you better believe it!!!!!!!!! As you might guess I am PISSSSSED!!!! Don't let this guy screw you around with his " As far as I know" B. S. P.s.: Al I'm the guy who called you last Thursday about this truck, you too Bob!!!

Sorry to hear that, sounds like a real shyster. On the other hand I was lucky and I bought the first Syclone I ever saw, in Wisconsin also and it turned out so good that I almost felt guilty later for getting such a great truck for the price I paid. So don't despair, there are good ones out there, sometimes you just have to wait a few (more) weeks :(

Perhaps you should give the seller some negative feedback on EBAY, so someelse doesn't have to go through what you went through.

BTW, sorry to hear about your experience.

Many regards,
