just because it sounds low dosent mean a thing,i had a sy that made the same sound and was a lifter,do yourself a favor ,they are cheap,pull the intake and valve covers and put new lifters in it,because if one lets go you are going to have bigger problems,that job shouldnt take you but a few hours.
