this is the upper intercooler pipping. not tacked or welded yet. but you get the idea.
4532580125_ae9362750f_b.jpg

have to oval the holes on the brackets so i can adjust the intercooler still.
4533242114_df3222e2e1_b.jpg

i had to "modify" the core support:rotf:i still have to grind it smooth and straighten out the lines.

I like it. Intercooler tucked behind the grill is bitchin, looks menacing.

Re: heres my 95 s10 RWD prodject

why not use aluminum piping for the ic piping?

and no...i didn't delete your thread, you lazy pos. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73569

how did you find it? there is only three posts in the conversions forum. ??. anyway, thanks.

i didn't use aluminum because its expensive to have welded. and i wouldn't be able to tack it on my own. im trying to do as much on my own.

why do you say? it seems that all (most) syty owner think just because you guys disconnect the front shafts and do burn outs in a parking lot, that a rwd truck doesn't hook.

on the contrary, every s10 with a sbc seems to hook just fine. and id think that having a turbo 6 would launch a little easier than a sbc.

just my :2cents: but id like to hear your reasoning.

Re: heres my 95 s10 RWD project

got some more work done today.

mock up is complete on the a2a. i tacked it up and everything worked out nice. i used two U bends and two 45 bends. it was my first time using a welder:rotf:the welds look more like snot than tacks. oh well. off to my welder to have him weld/grind.
4544641541_634a31d629_b.jpg

i also re-clocked the turbo. i need to cut the wg puck material away for the JSM dp. so i had to take the v-clamp off and the pressure ring out too. now i can clean up the outside of the cold/hot sides and not get the shaft all messed up with metal shavings.

4544635887_f1d97a988b_b.jpg

this is before i put the snot...i mean welds on it.
4544623553_2927ce5d7c_b.jpg

anyway, hope to get some more done tomorrow. its my last day of vacation:tdown:

Re: heres my 95 s10 RWD project

dom...when you tack things together, you only put like a dot of a weld on it....in 2 or 3 places. that'll hold it together. there is no need to weld them for many inches like you did. The setup looks good minus your snot.

you are going to glass bead that turbo before putting it on your truck right? you are going to clean that turbo up before using it right? You are not going to put that turbo on looking horrid like that, right?

Re: heres my 95 s10 RWD project

How exactly are you applying the snot to your tubing? You need to grind the last ~1/2" of that tubing down to the bare metal.. Then tack it like Renz said. Do you plan to have someone final weld everything for you once you get it all tacked up?
