HID lighting output

I've got HID's installed in HELLA H4 housings and my "color output " looks more "Blue". Is this a function of the Housings' LENSES or is it the bulbs themselves?

I know there's 4300K bulbs/capsules, 5000K bulbs etc....and the 4300K's are supposed to look more like "white". Anyone know if replacing my (I think) 6000K's with the 4300K's would make 'em look "white"?

Not pretending to be an expert, but it's my undersatnding that the 6000k are quite a bit more blue than the 4300k. I've read in my research that the 4300k is what the Lexus/Audi/Acura/etc use from the factory, and it's about as white as you get before it starts getting blue. The 6000k looks more like what Pep Boys sells to the Honda-boys for $14.95.

Bulbs. Every OEM hid app uses 4300k. The bluish purplish hues you see are a product of the HID optics (projetors) on most bmw-audi's. I had the 4300k xenarc kit for my ty and it was blue for a second on start up, then went to pure white once warm. Still no mistaking it for any halogen bulb, but there wasn't much blue.

Hows the light patern with the h4's? my xenarc kit with optics designed for HID's still had some bright spots, and left some to be desired from it. Still better than halogen, but not qite like the wifes audi A6.

Re: HID lighting output

I might as well buy a pair of 4300K bulbs and make 'em, HOPEFULLY, white....

The H4 light pattern has a fairly sharp cutoff(lowbeam) straight ahead with a ~45* or so cutoff to the right..... high off to the right side of the road so you can BLIND everyone on the sidewalks/driveways and make all the signage GLOW.

I had seen some of the "light pattern" pics posted on this 'site somewhere with the Sylvania's (xenarc?) which looks alot nicer than my H4's.
