HKS AIC and MSD Ignition Contoller

Hi!

I wanna put a bigger turbocharger on.
So im confused about those 1 million diffrent chips and everything. I think thats much to comlicated and not good enought....

Im thinking about a other idea to controll ignition and fuel.....

Im planing to use a HKS AIC contoller. With this contoller i can put up to 8 (i would use 6) more injectors to put fuel in to the engine when its more than 14psi what the stock ecu can controll. There is a HKS 2bar Mapsensor in the kit and a rpm pickup as well. I can use the rpm signal and the boost signal as well, so then i can make a setup.... For tuning i would use a wideband.

To controll ignition i will use a boost timing master from msd or summit. There i can reduce ignition timing on higher boost, in this kit is also a 2bar mapsenors with.

With this idea, i have to weld a other manifold where i can but my 6 plus injectors in, and put a fuelrail on it. I would use a 255 walbro fuelpump and would make a new fuelline where i wold use a y-pice to feed both injector-systems, then in a fuelpressureregulator and back to the fueltank...

What do you guys think about this idea??
Do sombody else use a setup like this???

Best regrads

Re: HKS AIC and MSD Ignition Contoller

those 2 bar sensors will still limit you to 14 psi. go check out code59.org and learn how to tune for yourself or you could do what i did and go standalone engine management like fast or big stuff3

Re: HKS AIC and MSD Ignition Contoller

is this for a syty ? there are limited choices for off the shelf chips for our trucks and custom tuning is hands down the best option out there . more info about your build etc will help us help you with your options .

sticking with a proven plan will get you the most help in the long run . with a one off setup such as what you hve explained above , it will be hard to ask for help with it since no one else will be in the same shoes.

welcome to the boards . theres a lot of good info in here .

No, 2 bar are 29.01psi. That shold be enought for my plans.....

Re: HKS AIC and MSD Ignition Contoller

Yeah its for a typhoon

So i worked in a custom shop for japanese cars like supras, evo`s, etc. Im working also in a dragraceteam and there are a few setups like that...

So the + points for this system is that when teh car runs normal (on the street to go buying food or somthing) everything will work stock, and there is no tuning to run the car "normal". Only when using power and much boost this electronic will put more fuel and reduce ignition. I have this HKS Controller left from diffrent projekts, the Injectors and fuelrail as well. I only had to buy the MSD controller. Thats a pretty cheap solution for me.... Also can putt a lot of fuel in with this injectors and i havent to replace the stock ones.
I will built the car for the strip (puplic race) wehre only streetlegal cars are alllowed. And im from switzerland. A swiss street legal car is not like a us- stret legal car :) Its almoste nothing allowed to make more power even a other airfilter is illeagal! :)

Re: HKS AIC and MSD Ignition Contoller

yep you are correct

Well, not exactly. The standard outside pressure is 14.696 psi, so when a 2 bar map sensor is maxed out you are running 1 bar(aka. 14,696 psi) boost. Boost plus outside pressure is the actual air pressure you are feeding your engine. So if you want to run higher than stock boost you need a 3 bar map sensor...
