It would be interesting to see what this guy would pay if someone put a Marlboro Syclone on ebay right now.

Is it a good thing, that this guy is buying up every truck in site? SyTy OG's will be tempted to sell their trucks, then we will have fewer SyTy OG's. I know, some OG's will stick around even if they are truckless. How many that stick around will be as active in the community? They will be replaced by one guy, that no one on this site knows. Will he answer newbie questions, drive a hundred miles to check out a truck an out of state SyTyer is thinking of buying, help tune a members truck, show up at Nats or Homecoming?

I hope he does. I hope he shows up at a show with a semi (or 3) full of trucks. Maybe he'll donate a truck to the Nats raffle.

If truck values double(or more), what will that do to the community? Truck prices going up only helps those that are selling their trucks and leaving the SyTy community(except for those with more than one truck). Well, I guess it will increase insurance rates and that's always a good thing.... If a truck that goes for $9000 now, is suddenly worth $25,000 would insurance rates stay the same? And, what if you need a part? Would you want to spend 3 or 4 grand for a rough looking SyTy intake?

If truck prices go way up, who will be buying? Investors that will put it in a warehouse for years? Will this new guy put all the trucks he's buying in a warehouse. That means fewer trucks on the road and fewer SyTyers on this site.

T-Bone says he has tabacco(sp?) settlement money. So, he's probably not in the best health. What happens when he dies? All those trucks being dumped on the market will drive prices into the ground.

If you quote me, please do a better job at it. Here is what I posted; "Gimmeni Cricket, I think I figured it out.....FINALLY. He might have been awarded a $19.6 million dollar class action lawsuit against Phillip Morrison in 2004". I wrote he "MIGHT" have been awarded that amount because my amatuer sleuthing has made a interesting discovery but I am trying to confirm with certainty he is the awardee. I am not quite at that point yet. He may have been severely injured in a vehicle accident in which a Typhoon or Syclone was the other vehicle. Now that he has settled, he is buying up SyTy's and related parts to send to the crusher out of revenge.....who knows??? Give me a few more days to figure it all out for sure. This stuff doesn't surface overnight.

One guy is not going to completely change the pricing of our truck long term. Now a trend of buyer like this will raise the value. He also hay decide to dump the truck in year flooding the market.

As far as I have seen he isn't wildly bidding (price wise) on SyTy. From a quick ebay count he has bought 13's SyTy, so he has reduced the current supply of SyTy's for current buyers.

As for the OG's I would guess if they were planning to sell, that a few extra $K might be the influence to sell their vehicle, but they were porbably planning on selling anyways. I am not an OG but I am not selling even if my truck value jumps $5K.

The $9K trucks aren't going to jump up to $25k for quite a while. Most of the $9K SyTy aren't on radar of collectors. Some value added to vehicles should help our legacy, because if they get too cheap it will not be worth while to fix them, keep aftermarket stock parts (ie cladding). If they get too cheap more of them will be lost to teenagers, cheap repairs and daily drivers. Maybe that would be a good thing, it would reduce supply and keep the prices of nicer one reasonably high.

I have a theory about high production sports car, ie Mustang, F-bodies, Chevelles, even some (70's, 80's) Corvette's etc You have a ruin a good bunch of them drastically reducing supply, befoire they are worth anything. We don't have a lot of production to begin with so I hope a drastic reduction of supply isn't needed to keep our truck legacy.

take another look

Only the seller has the ability to make the buyers ID private. The buyers are not able to do that.

Also, he bought a Johnny Lightning Working Class Syclone....loose, out of the packaging for $27.00!!!! I have a few still in the package, maybe I can get $35....lol

Good Luck to him,
Jimmy

Yet he didn't bid against me on the "mint - in the package" example that I just won for $11.xx shipped. I'll never understand certain things I guess.

This is getting me anxious since I haven't bought a sy yet. I've been meaning to not only because I love them, but also because I know they will be worth quite a bit in 20+ years.
