Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

In the spirit of the new year, and realizing that with the economy and holidays, extra cash may be hard to come by, we are extending this pricing til the end of the January!

Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

I just left you a message to call me. I bought a fender arch for a syclone that is so fragile it snaps off the mounting flanges the moment we try to bolt it down. The fender was AM but this flare as an NOS should be a little more flexable than this. I am not happy you need to call me 785-484-3245

These are plastic parts that were fragile when new, they are now over 20 years old.

Hate to say it but breaking the tabs off is pretty standard, the only fix is to reinforce the area around the base of the tab.

Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

It wasnt just the tabs that broke off either. We were installing it to the fender and the end of it that wraps around the front snapped off too. Almost like bakelite instead of plastic. Even the old flare that was broken up from the deer hit was more flexible, and still had all the tabs but one ....and was broke in 4 peices. This isnt my first rodeo. Ive been in the body business since 1983 and have had a Typhoon and repaired several of these thoughout the years. I barely touched the tabs as we were installing the hardware and they snapped off. The bolt holes were even lined up thats why it doesnt make sense.

I have been repairing my cladding and trying to get it ready to paint. This cool weather is causing me lots of problems. If I don't warm the cladding up it snaps very easily. Even with temps in the 40's.

Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

Other than warming the cladding up, any other suggestions that would help make sure it is as flexible and strong as possible?

Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

I can field this. Tony is exactly correct. Sorry that the cladding install went so badly. This is NOS cladding that we bought from people closing shop or getting out of the business. All tabs have been reinforced and we have sold and installed hundreds of these pieces. We often have to heat the parts to install them on trucks. Or in the summer time we let the parts sit in the sun for a couple of hours. I am sure this was the best material that GM and AMP could use at the time for molding the cladding. We can fix this piece. just ship it back and I will repair it.

You have our phone number in your email. Please contact us directly and we would be happy to figure out what we can do to make you happy. Thanks

Back to the cladding sale.

Re: Holiday Cladding sale!

Strengthwise, we reinforce the tabs on the outgoing cladding with a compound we have come up with over the years. But heating them is the key for fittment without breakage.
