4-1-09: I have 11 Kits available today.

As of 3-30-09 I now have 2 kits ready to ship (thanks everyone)

This kit consists of brackets and two gas struts, which eliminate the steel rod that holds up the hood.

Kit requires drilling two holes for each of the upper brackets and securing them with either pop rivits (included) or screws, also included.

Lower bracket bolt on in the inner fender lip. Just need to drill a hole in a spot weld.

Takes about 15 minutes to install the kit.

I'll take one as well. i guess they can be made to work with fiberglass hoods as well.

I can't guarantee that they will work on fiberglass hoods, because of differences in the undersides.

However, several people have used them on Harwood hoods with success.

The hood brackets attach with either pop rivits or screws. Unless there is some metal for them to go into, it might not work.

Without knowing the specific construction used in the hood, I can't say 100% that it will work.

have purchased 2 sets of these in the past and i absolutely love them. what i did was drilled holes on the hood and then got some aluminum nutserts, which are threaded rivets and popped them in, so that you can use a button head allen screw and never have to worry about stripping the sheet metal out with the screws, you can take them on and off a million times if needed.

then just used the same on the fenders

Do you have a pic of where they mount to on the fender? I ask because I have a cold air box and was wondering if there's any interference with anything.

Will the hood strut kit work on cowl induction hoods? Sometimes when I open my hood too far, the cowl hits the wiper arms.

If it's a Goodmark hood, it will work. You can install the hood brackets a little farther up on the hood, which will reduce the "open hood angle" a little.
