if you use the hood shocks i would only mount 1. i had a customer with an integra with a carbon fiber hatch and had 2 shocks mounted and the hatch shot up fast. he has to run back and stop it every time. i have the fiberglass cowl and want to try it also but i don't want to destroy anything, either.:2cents:

if it werks w/1 then you have a spare for when the other goes out which would be a very long time. let us w/fg hoods know the out-come, huh?

These have been installed successfully on Harwood fiberglass hoods without any issues.

It would have been more appropriate to PM me and ask me to answer your concerns rather than to voice a matter on a product which you have never seen.

I would never suggest to anyone to use "1" hood strut. The hood would be unbalanced, would lift it in an uneven fashion and possibly even allow to damage it by creating "flex" in the hood.

No problem, the internet has a lack of "facial expressions and verbal tone" that is easily misrepresented.

I also wanted to make, that in my opinion, it would not be ok to install a single gas strut on a fiberglass hood. By lifting and supporting it on one side, it greatly increases the risk of stress cracks by allowing it to twist.

Again, no problems. I would be happy to work with you and provide a viable solution which would alleviate your concerns regarding your application.

ah, see, this whole time i was trying to think of quick witty replies to say back to you and here you are coming off as a gentleman.

jk! it's all good.

now, i totally understand what you mean about the twisting/flex of the hood. i really didn't look at it that way. i just assumed it would be too strong with 2 shocks. when i saw my customer's hatch kick up i thought if he didn't stop it in time then there was going to be broken glass every where. this is something i've been interested in for some time but was afraid of damaging my hood. so please excuse my skepticism.
