well do you have boost control?...how about unhooking the 2 wire lead that goes to it...then you should only have base boost ~10psi...if you hook it back getmore boost then its working

jwaller, that is my point...It was working fine...Michael (you roomy i think) told me to do the same and record a run with datamaster, because i was having boost control problems...then i hooked it back up and WAMMO...not working...I checked a million times to see it i hooked it back up correctly, which i did (it isn't that hard)...What the hell happend to it? Any clue?

Hay have a question if you disconnect the solinoid then the turbo would be operating on just the wastgate diaphram, right? if it only goes to 10 psi. then when you hook up the solinoid back up it just lets air back in to the to bleed off boost. why then do you get pressures above 10 psi???

I think you can cross over the ALDL like your checking the codes and it will energize the solenoid with the ignition switch on. Then you can check for power and ground on the connector using a test light or voltmeter. Also with the solenoid energized, you can pull off both vaccum lines at the compressor and wastegate. When you try to blow through the line from the compressor, you should not have air coming out the line going to the wastegate.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on the energizing the solenoid.

kwick6,

I assume Mike is Velox03 right? Both from seattle, so that would work out great. I'd love to try out the wastgate selenoid you got...I'd be happy to pay for shipping, or even the selenoid if you wish to sell it...Let me know and i'll send ya my address. What you think Velox03, sound like a deal?

I was just getting a code 31 check engine light. Also, the vent looked like ass and was likely clogged. The number was 1997152 as printed on the ticket. List was $27.95 but the dealer put it at $18.85 so $20.17 with tax. Probably a good idea to change it. Can't hurt...

Just ordered one from Dal Slabaugh #1997152 wastegate solenoid for $9.43 + $4.45 shipping and had it in 3-days. I don't know why more people don't use Dal's services, being that his name has been mentioned so many times and he has been helping the automotive community and list members for quite a while and will get you the best prices on stock GM parts.

I imagine that a "Hook Ups" page to go along with the FAQ might be useful to some of us.

That way you guys who want to sell things can solicite your contact information to people who dont want to wade through the forum to recall where they last saw it.

Just an idea.

Actually Dal's name has been around for years. The other thing is to remember http://www.gmpartsdirect.com - they generally have very good prices if you want to wait for shipping. I would rather buy something and go pick it up myself - I hate waiting. Anyone want to go to Ohio to pick up some leaf springs
