How fast?

Ok, lets see what you guys think.

How fast ET wise do you think it will take a car to be faster than this black talon.

is a local group, that only runs on street with it. Being AWD they do fairly well and from what I have heard, is the one to beat.

They like to talk a lot of smack,(if you can't tell from video) race for money, etc. Just curious.

Re: How fast?

Hard to tell, can't really see much of the race. If you could find out whats done to the Camaro and what numbers he puts down it would be easier to tell. The 9's probably aren't far off. I'm sure Deans Sy would be a great race. Those DSM's can be made pretty quick for cheap, and they're very light cars. Pretty easy to get them in the 10's, keeping them running well is different story though.

For all we know, a turbo Camaro could be just the basics. Turbo kit on low boost (6-8psi) and basic bolt ons. I know one thing, it did not sound like a turbo Camaro, but the vid was not the greatest.

Re: How fast?

I would say low 11's high 10's. They are racing on the street and street only because of the awd advantage but that camaro doesn't look like it moved out all that well and didn't spin much so its prolly an atypical bolt on car. Depends on where you race. If you race them on their grounds (street) you will prolly need closer to the mid 10's to be safe but at the track a high 10 should have it covered. There is a big DSM population in my area and there is only about 2% that pass the mid 10 range at the track around here

Re: How fast?

A bolt-on turbo kit can put down anywhere from 400-600rwhp. We have a local f-body thats turbo'd with a built 347 making almost 900rwhp. I was expecting to hear the turbo too.

Re: How fast?

this talon runs mid 6's at the local 1/8th mile strip with a 1.5-1.6 60' :D

He is on my list. I am going to race him on his terms and get it on video. :)

Re: How fast?

well i think 15 or 16 seconds would cover it....if you're willing to make a hard left into the other lane on launch.....

the AWD dsm's are in the 3200 lb area. the FWD cars are around 2900-3000.

Re: How fast?

11's should wax that car, not a bad launch, but an 11.5 will smoke that car, plus the sy/ty launch is more brutal!
