Ok I would like to put my.0000000002 cents worth in. I hav the build you are talking about and I shift at 6000. and it is still pulling. Also some of the shift rpm depends on turbo size. If I shift below 5300 the turbo will lose boost and actully go slower. So yeah with a smaller turbo no need to spin it to the moon buuuuuttttt with a larger turbo you may have to spin it higher to keep from unspooling. But hey what do I know I've only been 6.13@112

mine reves to 14000k but i got the super secret titanium twin dohc soleniods that replace the valvetrain, the 5lb unobtainium forged crankshaft, with matching 5gram rods and 10 gram pistons all balanced to +/-0.0000001 micrograms, installed in my stock 2bolt main block with epoxed stage 3x epoxy ported lb4 heads. i can't tell you the hp/tq because it's super secret but peaks around 13987.3426 rpm and should make roberts truck look like it's in reverse.

So i dont know why everybody wanna mess me up!!! And make stupid comments about.

I only was asking how high i can rev the engine.

So the fact what im thinking about is that higher rpm can spool up a turbo better!!

I dont know if is that the "mess up the swissguy" thread... iW as thinking the forum can help with questions and help syty owners......

BTW, thanks for all good answers in the thread!

If you see what maverick87 is saying you do not need to spin the motor super high with a smaller turbo but with bigger turbos you need the extra air flow to keep it spooled and not drop off. the thing is these motor make toque and make decent horsepower just reveing them to 4800 rpms. You will need a different cam to spin it hight not to lose power.

Think of it this way dealing with Torque and Horsepower.
Torque is how hard you Hit a wall
Horspower is how fast you it a wall.

Plain and simple if you are looking for a good build that will be reliable listen to these guys and don't rev the piss out of these motors or you will be back on here asking advise for rebuild it time and time again.

Of course i will use a big turbo ( i will use a gtk-650 or gtk-850), thats why im asking. Its clear for me that its stupid to try get more hp out of the stock engine with the stock turbo.......... Thats why i was saying i wanna make a comlete set-up.
I try to find the right turbosize with my flow calcultaor wich calculates the cfm / lb/min. I was asking about how hig i can rev that i now how much flow the egnine can put out that i know wich turbo.........

Their is aaproximate calculations for the numbers your looking for.

IMO with a GTK-650, your obviously not trying to break any records. Build a motor that rev's to ~6000rpm and pick a turbo big enough for your HP (or E.T.) goals.

Ah yeah really? I dosent heard som bad things.... i only heard that they went to hot beause of the ceramiccoatet turbine-hosing, but they new ones shoud have watercolling!?!?

All good turbo engine builders pick a turbo and build a motor to fit that don't they?

Wait, nevermind they build a motor and pick the best turbo to fit the motor. I get all confused after eating japenese for dinner the night before.
