If someone called my sy an Extreme I would literaly shit my pants! :evil: :x :evil: Then kill them and be on CNN. I like the whole burn out thing. There were a few guys at the races last weekend and they could not figure out how I could launch sooo hard with those little street tires. Whats even better is they actualy got up close for a few launches and couldnt figure it out. My friend BS'ed em and told em I was using some kind of spray on my tires. They never figured it out, that its AWD.

I cant take this truck out without loving it so much I want to buy another

he said, oh the blazers right?
i said yeah.
he says, too bad, the syclones were real trucks. the typhoon is just for show :roll:

met a typhoon owner, (atleast it's owner's wife) who looked at the sy, looked at her ty, looked at the sy again... "Hay, your truck has the same stuff... pointing at the ground effects.. as mine" schooling followed.

get alot of the gn/454/v8 questions, had people cringe when i reply that its an automatic, tire changers ask me to do a burn out.

the list is longer then I can remember..

Had a guy at the track last fri ask how much it cost to put the turbo on.. when I had to describe twice that they COME with them. He proclaimed how he wanted to do the same to his blazer. (after passing me off as an idiot I imagine) :drinking:

Ive gave up. I just stand there and shake my head and think "man those commercials were all true POT does fry your brain" I think in a few weekends Ill go to the local hang out and stomp some carmaros. Hey, I know its not really a challenge. Ive just been kinda down lately.. Ill carry a bottle of rubbing alcohol with me and sqirt it on my back tires before I run'em "thats just my ultra secret traction compound"

I went to look at my first Ty when I was about 21.

Motor said "Syclone"

I thought, "hmmm, somebodies been messing with this cuz it doesn't have the right motor"

I later learned...

Mechanics are the best, my 2.8 liter 91 S-10 with a glasspack muffler, ALWAYS fooled seasoned mechanics...I'd rev it up and they'd guess 350.

The girl working the gate: "Sorry, you can't come in here. This is the entrance for the race cars."
Me: "Yeah, I know. I',m racing this(the Syclone)."
The girl: "Why would anyone want to race a pickup?" :roll:
I then proceeded to knock EVERY carbed old piece of crap car in the Street class. HeeHee.

I got that at the Fayetteville, NC track w/ the Typhoon. Only I was only running 14.0's with the Ty. Not too impressive seeing all the GN's running 11's and F-bodys in the low 12's. Hopefully with this Sy I'll be better with it and eventually get down to 11's.

Guys - that's NO joke.

Three years ago, entering Syclone Typhoon country, I brought my Ty to the local GMC-Pontiac-Buick dealership (DMV had whatever complain with a recall I had to follow up to get it street legal).
The older guy (name him Bob) manager in charge of the service department, taking the appointment said "Aha, you put a turbo on it...". I said "Nope, came like this it's a GMC Typhoon". Bob "You know what, I have to tell you, GM never built a turbocharged car".

I was sitting NEXT until it was finished and they have never seen me again.

In 10 years of ownership....I have heard about everything everone else has ever heard...

At Pomona the track annoucer would always say our trucks had the GN motor in it.... finally had to go and correct him one afternoon...

It seems a lot of people ask if they are "real" Syclones or Typhoons..... I actually have seen a "fake " one though..... but only one fake one....

Lots of people ask about a manual trans , lots of people ask if it has a Corvette motor.

Sometimes I just agree ---- its easier to make them go away if you agree with them............. maybe I am part of the problem...

I have also had a dealership - a GMC dealership service manager tell me that I put the ground effects and turbo on my Typhoon....... I was there picking up some parts for me to install myself.......
