How much time shall I set aside for installing lowering

Depends on how you do it.
The easy way, just slide the blocks in, (not necessarilly right) maybe an hour.

The right way, disassemble spring pack, install block on top of spring, then the wedge on top of block, bolt everything back together is gonna take longer. Depends on if you have everything you need to do it this way.
C-clamp, new modified bolt to hold spring pack together.

If you go the easy route, the rear end winds up getting pushed forward. This will cuase the wheels to not sit centered in the wheelwells and cause it to look dorky. 1" will create a less noticeable dorky look than 2" will.

No matter how you do it with blocks the rear will sit forward.
Mine is done with 2" blocks with the wedge on top and my rear
still sits a little forward. I believe the only way to get it right is
with lowering spings.

you can compensate for where it sits. i had blocks and took em out because of the shitty ride, and i used low quality blocks that took my diif out of alignment so it clacked on the 1-2 shift. when i was removing the block i tighened the ubolts a little tighter than finger tight and moved the rear axle to where it was center in the wheel wells. once it was centered i tightened the rest of the way.

im doing springs, because i did blocks and couldnt stand the ride. it was quick, easy, and cheap though.

is this the correct way to do it.

I want the rear wheels centered and not forward in the wheel well.

Thanks for the help

that "how to" is pretty much correct...i did it the other day...i read somewhere that it takes an hour or so...took me alot longer than an hour...the 3/4 hex head bolts on the parts list is incorrect, or at least for my truck...need to pull the original bolts with the round head and take them along to compare thickness...i tried drilling my blocks with a hand drill and got nowhere...i ended up firing my drill press and made short work of it...i didnt notice a difference on the ride...i dont see how the ride could change being that the stock spring rate didnt change...

i plan on removing this setup as soon as i find good lowering leafsprings...dont trust the blocks...one of them is starting to turn...that sux...kinda bad decision to put them on in the first place...

I have blocks with no problems at all. my 60' are 1.65 and
my truck rides fine. Like we said you have to take the center bolt
out and get a longer one. Go to any spring shop and they
stock them. Just make sure you put the block between the
spring and the factory shim. The center bolt is 3/8. The reason
I do not have lowering springs is my antisway bar will not
work with them. If you do this properly there will be no play
when you stack it all back together. If you want to see mine
Pm me and we will meet somwhere, or you can come to my shop.
