How the hell do you remove the body cladding anyway?

screws, bolts, rivets. All depends on if your cladding has been off before or not. Its a big pain in the ass to remove...don't bother unless you have a good reason.

The hardest part is drilling out metal rivets without melting the plastic cladding. You have to be very carefull and it takes some time.

I found that for most of the metal rivets you can get them off without drilling at all. I just use a center punch and a hammer...and smack the center of the rivet once or twice..until its about 1"-1.5" inset. Then just use some good snips to snap the rivet head off (might take some bending around to weaken). Somethings once the center is punched up you can just rip the rivet off completely.

This technique worked great everywhere except for the door pieces. If your doors have any rust at all, they'll be too weak to take the center punch method. Just be careful.

the door flexing while trying to punch out the rivet will crack the cladding though.
