Hydroboost problem?

Re: Hydroboost problem?

I cut and rewelded mine quite a few miles ago and have never had a problem. Im curious to see what you find out but i agree if its forcing fluid out of the cap maybe the lines are backwards or not hooked up right. Maybe another possibility is one of the return lines is blocked/pinched?

Im not saying that is a bad way to do it. But wouldn't you rather just have something that makes it to where you don't have to cut and paste? I personally think it would be the best way to go.

Switched the lines and now when I push the brake I lose the power steering.

So I'm taking it that its something else. How would I know if the lines are actually flowing properly?

Some additional info:
"On vehicles equipped with "Hydroboost" power brakes, a hard pedal can be caused by a loose power steering pump belt, a low fluid level, leaks in the power hoses, or leaks or faulty valves in the hydroboost unit itself (the latter call for rebuilding or replacing the booster)."
