I have a roller 1992 Typhoon, what to do? PICS and VIN added

This is not a classified add... It was my dad's truck and he blew the motor about 6-7 years ago... It sat inside a wharehouse for 5 of the 7 years... Am i better of parting it out or selling it at a roller? I really don' t know what its worth to even start with... The motor and turbo have gone missing, but I am in the process of tracking that down, but it needed a new motor anyways... What are your ideas and opinions?

what color is the truck? How good is the condition of the body? How many miles are on it? There are lots more variables in deciding whether to part it out or not. Most purists are going to want you to get it running and sell it complete. That may or may not be the best way to get the most $ out of it though, if thats all you care about.

What condition is the body, cladding? Mileage? Rust? Accident history?
I would have to think that, unless there is a problem with the body, it is worth more as a roller (and a HECK of a lot less work for you!)

Lots 'o folks looking to put late model V8's in. Of course, they're looking for the roller to be dirt cheap, but the smart ones would be willing to pay a reasonable price to avoid the aforementioned body problems on TOP of the pain of a V8 conversion.

Re: I have a roller 1993 Typhoon, what to do?

it has about 47k miles, its black, the cladding is painted gloss black... The body is in good shape considering it sat so long, no dents... But when it was taken off the flat bed, the roll pan got cracked and the where the roll pan connects to the back passenger piece is also cracked.. all other cladding is not damaged.. on the front, the front bumper need paint where it chipped, but the whole truck needs to be painted... The interior is about perfect, the seats barely look sat in... I will try and get some pics up... I am thinking it will be easier to sell as a roller, but who knows, I don't know what the leather seats and good cladding is worth parted out... It also has 15" cragar racing wheels... Then need new center caps and good polish or cleaning though...

It also has a number of parts... new bearings, the batter is already been relocated to the back, some sort of a Garrett intercooler, and all the accessories... Ohh and one cracked piston :D

If the body is beat up and inside is good I would say part it out if it is a black/black and in good shape I may be interested :D

Bet keep in mind there is alot to sell but to me not everyone is willing to give you what it is worth :(

Re: I have a roller 1993 Typhoon, what to do?

The paint is warn, but it looks like only one small rust spot under the paint on the front driverside fender... Two pieces of cladding need some repair (roll pan and the pass side rear quarter where it wraps around back)... No accidents, I will get a VIN if someone wants to run a carfax and post it for me... the leather looks perfect...

I was going to do a V8 conversion and repaint it and repair the two cladding pieces, but i just don't have the time... It has a B&M hammer shifter in it as well... Like I said no dents though that need to be repaired... I know its not worth a ton, but if someone worked in a body shop or did painting themselves it would be a pretty easy fix.. I know I know... Pics are coming...

Heck if I could get a grand I might be happy.... LOL

I'd be interested in it for a v-8 swap. If you can get some pics, e-mail themto me vtr_norm@hotmail.com. If your looking for a grand for it, put my name down, unless it's really beat up. But I'm interested in it.

Re: I have a roller 1993 Typhoon, what to do?

I am not trying to turn this into a classified add for sure... I just didn't know what its worth and if its worth more parted or whole... I think I am going to sell it as a roller, but just don't know what is fair.. I am off to take a few pics of the rough exterior and I'll post the VIN... I am in Raleigh, NC and the Title is in VA, it should be on its way to me this weekend..

Alright, help me fair value this knowing I want to move this fairly quickly...

Also found one brand new center cap for the racing wheels still in the box so you have a part number to order the other three... I am going to take all the parts out and figure out what I have and what I don't this week to...

Well in my opinion. There's been a couple of ty's sold with no egine or in need of repair. They have gone pretty cheap. A week of so ago ther was a ty sold, running with needing a tune up,it sold for $3500.00. There's obviously work needed on yours. You could part it out and make a few grand or just sell it as is and also make a few grand. The choice is yours on what to do. The cladding would bring you the most money and you could always watch the parts needed forumn to see who needs what and check prior posts to see what some of that stuff is worth. Then of coarse there's alays e-bay.

I wouldn't bother buying center caps, as those wheels are probably something that the next buyer wouldn't want. (I know I wouldn't)
