I haven't decided...

I have owned a 93 Ty for they past 9months and I haven't really decided what I really want to do to the truck now. I keep going back on forth on the ideas on either restoring my entire back to the way a stock typhoon should be or should I make this into a race truck. Just to give you guys some background info on my truck I bought this from my uncle back in January and it was in pretty bad shape it sat outside on the street for about 6month the bumper and bumper support were broken. A little rust spot was starting to show at the top of the driver side door  . About an inch of leaves were covering it. So i bought this truck from him for $7500. My beginning plans were rebuild the motor and then but a t3/t4 turbo in it and so on. But now since i started working my new job at the dealership i can get oem parts from them at basically nothing :D to put my truck back into great shape. In your guy's opinon should i restore the truck or should I turn my truck into race truck?

Re: I haven't decided...

After seeing the truck, its not that bad. I would first clean it up as good as you can. Fix the few problems in the engine compartment. I would just check the condition of the motor (compression test, leakdown test) do some simple mods and maybe a new paint job. Adding more HP means more problems to work out. You should run a datamaster on it to see what the ecu is seeing. Maybe at the meet one of us can hook one up for you. Your truck just need some TLC.. $$$ always plays a factor. It up to you Crystal as to what you want. and as always the members of SYTY will have all the answers. LOL

Re: I haven't decided...

When I first bought my TY in January all I wanted to do was mod it and make it really fast/racetruck. I did a bunch of small stuff, but recently have been concentrating on stuff that needs to be done. (Couple rust spots, 2 body mounts, wiring issues, overboosting) I think it's a good idea to get it the way you want it cosmetically and also suspension/frame before you start modding it. Make sure its running right and everything else is the way you want it before you start putting money into it or else you're going to end up with even more problems :2cents:

Oh yeah, get a scan tool. I'm running Diacom ( old, i know ) but it's something to help me monitor what my car is doing. If it's running good, like mine has been, then there's barely any cars that are going to keep up with you anyways.
