Did you try NAPA? There are some places that make cables like Whistler Bearing. I dont know if you ahve them up there but I could call for you and see if they make them still. What happened to your old one? If its just strecthed Im sure you can have the cable replaced pretty easily.

The old one was broken in the middle there is some sort of fiber glass that the cable runs through. It was bent and broken inside crumbled out.I found one on line
gm-car-parts.com Part Number 15637756. It is discontinued. But they had one 37.95

Well I got a email. The cable is not available.... Any body have any ideas?? no luck napa....
Some one has to have one on there shelf. No luck GMC in USA.

No clue exactly, haven't ever seen a Ty in person, (here for susp, steering, driveline info, although I would scream inside the library of congress for one) but I have seen intake pics. How exactly is the end set up? Is it like most eighties GM stuff?
Reason I'm asking is the early carb'd 2.8 S-series were in about the same place. I think my CPI has a different style end on it.
Maybe even a custom one from lokar? Worst comes to worst, measure yours, take a pic, and walk around the junkyard looking at GMs with a tapemeasure.

Ive been looking also, mine is fraying. I cant find one ANYWHERE. I posted this a week or two ago and someone told me to check LMC truck, they have s-series cables but no specific sy or ty, just different part numbers so. If anyone finds where to get a replacement, please post it

Yea they are specific to the Sy Ty throttle body. and there are measured specific.They also have a pressed on end that slips into the throttle body actuator.Looking for new. I have not found one yet.... uh oh.

I had the same problem with the cable on my Ty fraying a few months ago. Searched high and low with no luck. Even went to the U-Pull, thought I had hit the jackpot when I pulled 3 cables from 91-ish 4.3s. I measured my stock cable before I went, and these measured pretty close. Unfortunately I didn’t take the cable with me, and upon arriving home found that the TB end was too big to fit the TB arm. I do seem to remember the cables from CPI motors being way too long to work either.
That just left a couple of options. Option 1 was contacting a fellow board member, I believe TOMBBW808. He might have since changed his screen name, but he advertises being an OEM parts guy in his sig. Someone else can probably chime in and ID him. He had used ones in stock, but he ain’t cheap. Option 2 was looking into a cable from Lokar and adapting it to fit. I was in a hurry, so I shelled out the $$ to Tom and got the truck back on the road. Good luck.

Yea I was Looking at the 1989 camaro cable and it looks close. the length looks close as well and it has the ends are right.One for the foot pedal and the one for the throttle body look correct. They need to be compared side by side the cable coming out of the end looks to long but I don't know for sure. There is one on ebay. check it out.

I Still need a cable!.I cant beleve no one in the US has a New accelerator cable for a ty or sy.I am thinking of having it made.There is a guy who dose it here in town but im sure it wont be right the 1st time. I'll let yall know how it goes.
