A better than stock fuel pump for starters.
Run a 3" exhaust w/a straight through muffler. ;)
Add a methanol injection kit. A must!!
Install a 10 - 12 CM turbine housing.
And add a torque converter manual lockup switch.

To reiterate, a bigger turbo and/or methanol injection (and 50# injectors) and TUNING will get you there faster than anything else.

You don't need 50 lb injectors to run hard.
Just finely tunned steps in the right direction w/out spending a lot of $$$$$$$
Cheap racing I always look for things that might be high labor but cheap money wise.
Cold air kit, you can fab your own.
Good luck!

all mods have been done by prior owner he said the turbo was rebuilt with a bigger turbine how do I check? the turbo does spool up quickly in normal around town driving situations
and if I installed a fuel guage to rail and drove with it is there any way to know if I already have a better than stock pump?I really would rather spend money on other mods instead of throwing it away replacing a good pump with a good pump.

I am looking at the rpm 3 inch cat back system any thoughts?? Or should i run a straught pipe right out of the cat? it is not my only means of transportation so I would not mind if it was a little louder than it is right now.now I have a magnaflow muffler with twin tail pipes coming out of the back.

Definately get the RPM exhaust system, it is a very nice system.

Is your magnaflow muffler a straight through type?

When you say your turbo has a bigger turbine,,,, do you mean a turbine wheel? Turbine housing?

I would install a wide band O2 meter. That is a wise investment ,plus you can use it on other cars,,, if you want to??
I run the LM1 from Innovative.
That will tell you if you are running out/(or lean) of fuel at the top of each gear shift IE, from 1st to second, then from 2nd to third. that is where it showed up lean on my Sy,,,if this happens in your Sy,,,that may indicate you have a stock fuel pump.

When I had a stock fuel pump running 14-17 psi boost pressure I noticed my stock pump could not keep up for the demand of fuel needed. It would go lean at the top of each gear.
Top of first, then the top of second gear & so -on.

I installed a Walbro 255 HP intank pump & the lean A/F ratios went away.

KR usually happens when you are getting on it.

You will probably see some KR between shifts. Depends on how well it runs & the state of tune it is in.

Drive it by getting on it & look for the knock retard on the scan tool.
Methanol injection works really good to keep the KR's low or none @ all.
Ask here in this forum which alky system they like best.
I use just a Aquamist 1S system, it works pretty good, but they are very expensive now.
Mike @ RPM will steer you in the right direction & he has the correct parts you need.

the previous owner told me that when the turbo was rebuilt he had the exhaust end (I am assuming the turbine end)of the turbo upgraded to one size larger??
