The clear is just about gone from my wheels, so I was thinking about stripping, cleaning, and spraying a new coat of clear to keep them looking good. I have a compressor, but no spray gun. Looking at harbor freight tools, They have a few different guns that should work for a reasonable price.
I'd like to buy a gun that could spray something larger than a wheel down the road, but my compressor is only good for 8 cfm @ 40 psi.
Some of the guns are described as "detail" and some others are not. Are the detail guns only good for small items? The guns they list without the "detail" designation all require upwards of 14 cfm except for one, ITEM 90977-0VGA, which requires 6 cfm @ 30 psi. Is this really a detail gun? Would this smaller compressor requirement hvlp gun be able to spray a hood for example, or do I need a 14 cfm gun and compressor to spray something that large?
