I was told by a retired gm mechanic who ows syty's - TTA- GNs' that if you replace it, YOU MUST get the OEM from GM with the letter (E) stamped in the middle of the female connectors.
If it does not have an (E) It will give false values and won't respond the same to voltage as the old one.


Anyone here heard the same? what's stamped on yours?

My IAC is now clicking like crazy when I hook my OBD cable up and short A to B. The truck gives me some codes but I have no idea what they are. And with the Belkin adapter I still can't get any program to recognize the cable.

shorting A to B WILL cause your IAC to go mental - it is a test routine.

The Belking USB - what model is it? There was only one that worked regularly.

I gave up in the end and bought an old laptop with a serial port.

To find your error codes, you will see the Check Engine Light / Service Engine Soon Light flashing in the drivers panel.

See what sequence the flases are in. It repeats , and there is a gap...

code 43 = flash flash flash flash gap flas flash flash.

I think it does each code 3 times before starting again.

Search on here if that is not useful enough.

It's the FU whatever adapter...the right one. I see the green light blinking when trying to sync up too. I have a serial port and tried it first. Then went to the belkin.

I've used up my 10 trials of Datamaster how do I remove all the files to d/l more trials? I add/remove programs but I can't reinstall more trials.

If my IAC goes bananas that means my cable works. If the green light on my USB adapter blinks that means it works. Where's the problem?

I have the USB on Com4 without trouble. Should I set my computer BIOS to Com4 or leave it at Com1?

ah the good ol F5U103? Ok. YOu need to make sure the settings on DM are setup to read from the ALDL.

Is your ALDL cable plugged in to the cigarette lighter? It needs power.

There is a handshake protocol on there - do a search for the setting as I cannot remember them off the top of my head.

Well I can't get back into DM right now because I'm out of trials and I'm not buying it until I can get it working. I gotta figure out how to reset it to d/l a fresh copy again. Problems I can't get it to recognize TunerPro or ALDL test program.

And thanks for the birthday wishes....30 is the new 20! Looks like I'm gonna spend it in my Sy.

you need to buy datamaster if you have used your trials. Or reformat your laptop - uninstalling won't work.

The engine needs to be running as well I think for you to record data. If it is running then the IAC won't go mental. If the IAC is mental whil running then you may have a problem.

Make sure that you haven't got A-B AND the ALDL connected.

Well I'm not buying something I can't use. And I used the 10 trials trying to set the thing up. :rant: There has to be a way around it. I don't care to buy it I just want it to work first.

And I think I've tried just about every senerio possible so far. So frustrating.

When I run the hyper terminal program to test connection....I don't get any data to stream but I get the green light to blink everytime I press a key. I dunno. I think it's time to sell this thing.

TTS now has a OBD tester program that I downloaded and it fails.I dunno.

almost def a config problem. Use the serial port - forget the USB.
