Re: idle missfire??

Here is the guys response. I asked him for prices. The plate sounds cool. I might get one. I asked for pics. He quoted me 140$ Sounds good. I will give him a try. I hate to be without my sy :(
Hi,

Yes I can do the machine work to install the sealed roller bearings at each end of the shaft. Do you also want it bored to 52mm? I do make custom throttle plates and I have a Syclone one already on hand. I've had some guys in the past ask for them. I had a guy want the Syclone emblem with his build number.

Thanks for the itnerest,
Matt

Re: idle missfire??

Here I go again. After 1k of solid running the missing is back again and stronger then before. Now the Idle will drop down to 500rpm. I cant believe the rotor and cap are toast after 1k. DM shows good voltage (13.2 at idle). TB was cleaned and bearing put in. New IAC.. New vac lines, TEC cleaning was done, new plugs UR6's gapped @ 32. Phill set on 6., Is there a way to check the coil?? Sorry to bring back an old thread. I will change the cap, rotor. where can i get a coil. If I am going to drop a few hundred into the ignition is there a better way to go then stock?? MSD?? A better DIST??

Re: idle missfire??

It bounces around at idle. About 50-60. It does that all the time even when It does not missfire. What are you thinking QS. At this point I will try anything.

Re: idle missfire??

well this sounds like an Oil pressure switch for the fuel pump, on my old ty oil pressue gauge bounced around like crazy then finally it pegged and popped the fuel pump fuse. after replacing it(PITA) idle was solid and oil pressure was steady.

Re: idle missfire??

Sounds like fun. Something else to do. Would this cause a missfire?? is it just a sending unit?

Re: idle missfire??

Let me know what you find out cause mine does the same thing...only mine will stall out from time to time....not only that, it only happens with the 3 bar chip.....its funny, mash on the gas and the truck is gone but dont let her idle!!!!

Re: idle missfire??

yes its a sending unit/switch, not sure if it would cause a misfire, but after i replaced mine, it smoothed out. and in my s-10 it idles rough and the oil pressure gauge bounces around all the time, guess i gotta change that too.

Re: idle missfire??

friday. i decided to take my syclone to work. mind you i have that nasty miss at idle. stock motor stock chip. pull out of my driveway. truck dies and will not start back up. brother comes to get me. we check the truck on the side of the road. it turns over and you can hear it wanting to start. check the coil wire. we have very good spark. check the wires. real week spark coming out of the cap. so we think bad rotor. order a cap rotor figure grab a coil to be on the safe side. wait for the parts to show up. head back to the truck. swap out cap and rotor. try to start it. she wont. plug in the new coil. started right up. this truck has never idled so smooth in the 12 years i have owned it. figured i would change the plugs on it to. well i noticed i had ur-5 in there. so now i have new cap.rotor,plugs(ur-6) and new coil. and she purrs like a dream at idle. hope this helps you
