idle

Is it normal, if the engine is revved up high then dropped that it dips so far down below normal idle that it struggles to get back up and even on some occasions (while coming to a fast stop after gunning it) it dies?? She also idles rough, not too bad but the pully arm on the serpentine belt likes to bounce around alittle, haven't had a chance to check timing yet. but throw some ideas at me...please... thanks

Have you tried replacing all of your vaccuum Lines yet? I replaced the lines on my truck, and that cured my stalling when braking problem. It also really helped the idle.

I bought my vaccuum hose from here: http://www.hosetechniques.com/

I you can replace all of the lines with about 12 feet of both 4mm & 6mm hose.

How are your ignition componets? How old is the cap & rotor, wires, & Plug's?

I have no idea about the pulley arm.

I'm not the most knowledegable person about our trucks, but when I did these things, they hepled my truck.

Mine does that a little. Have you replaced the ignition parts lately? Bad cap, rotor, plugs, and/or wires are a common cause of rough idle. These trucks are known to eat them up in a short time. Might be worth it to replace them anyway...

Good thought. The idle is a little rough. However the pully bounce is constant through 1500 to 2000 rpm. I'm puzzeled.

I did the same thing. I replaced every vacuum hose on the car. It helped alot, but nmot with the tensioner pully bouncing. Thnx for the help.
