Ignition switch

My Keys were lost to the syclone, son n law replaced the ignition switch now it will crank but not start. It has to be jumped form coil, etc. Now I think he didn't put switch in correctly. Help. Bad back hard to fix things under dash. Also windows now refuse to roll up or down and I live in Ca and the trucks in Idaho. So I'm kinda F#@*(ked

Sounds like the lock was inserted with the ignition switch rod in the wrong position.

thats what I thought too. Took it apart and tryed jumping it at the switch ont the steering column still turns over but won't start
