so i wasnet sure where to post this... but i was checking out typhoons the other day and saw a really nice clean one... as i was driving it there was a large crack sound and it did a little jump my friend said he could feel it under his feel in the back...

i asked the guy he said it was something with the transmission or something where when u would floor it the teeth or the drive chain would miss the track when switching or something... the chain in the transfer case expanded and slips some teeth when u punch the gas

im not big on cars or anything but i would like to know how much a problem like this would cost to repair...

sounds like the transfer case chain is stretched.. if u repair it yourself its not too bad a couple hundred max

if you get some shop to fix it they will probably replace the whole transfer case you're looking at around a thousand or so installed at a dealer

i don't want to step on your toes to much buddy, but I would not recommend you get a syty for your first vehicle. I am trully only telling you that for your own sake.

yeah ive been told that a lot... but hell i have the money (kinda) and the time (kinda)... and i know i dont know a lot about cars... but i want to get started somewhere... and i wont be adding any upgrades at all to my syty i would leave it bone stock... not going to race it or anything... just try to keep it running and learn a long the way.

I respect your attitude, but don't kid yourself. If you truely won't modify and truely have the time and money, then fine. If you don't, walk away and come back when you're ready.

These trucks are finnicky as ****.

You better have deep pockets.

Not that I do,but when I total up all the $ I've spent on my truck,it's quite a chunk.
