i have this prob now... if i dont wiggle the shifter into park and hear it click... the truck will roll. damn annoying, but to lazy yet to get under the truck and fix it.
tAKE THE CABLE LOOSE AT THE SHIFT ARM OF THE TRANNY AND PUSH FOWARD KIND OF HARD ON THE SHIFT ARM OF THE TRANNY AND IF IT CLICKS AND HOLDS THE TRUCK, THEN BEND THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE CABLE DOWN THERE FOWARD A LITTLE TO ALLOW THE CABLE TO FULLY PUSH THE SHIFTER ARM FOWARD TO THE PARK POSITION.
Yes the propshaft is out due to breakage but I have only had a propshaft in for like 4 months befre the install it always went into park? Well I guess when I get the new propshaft in I will see what happens?
Well got the shaft in and it still rolls? Is this a problem with the front differential or the tranny. If it was the differential would i still be able to drive it?

I know you hate to hear it especially after going through all that trouble and buying from peter.... damage with the transfer case is a possibility..viscous coupling could be burnt out...
I'd be contacting Peter if I were you and asking if that Transfer case came out of his truck when it was RWD.... and if so... how long was he driving his syclone with his front propshaft out with that transfer case installed.... Main reason I say this is he could have mistakenly sold you a blown transfer case under the assumption that it was in perfect condition...
Did he have the case opened and inspected thoroughly by a drivetrain shop before he shipped it to you.?? Did you have the x-case opened up and inspected before the shop installed it?? Hindsight questions... but I'd be backtracking if you've had this problem for awhile...
You may have broken the parking pawl in the transmission. As far as i now it is a small piece of metal that holds the truck from moving, adn could have broken if you slammed it in park while still rolling. As faras front prop shaft being out, it shouldnt do it. Good luck
Well I had never had a problem with the Ty rolling before I replaced the drivetrain even when there was no front driveshaft. The t-case that i got from Peter he told me that it was a back up he had and never used and that it came out of a sy that only had 20k miles. I only put like 150 miles on the TY while the shaft was out with this new t-case. I was thinking maybe the tranny was f****d or the diff. I have been having problems with my tranny anyway. The Ty never rolled until the shaft broke so I dont' know. The new shaft seems to be workin great and had less vibration than the previous shaft. I checked my cv boots while i was installin the shaft and they all looked fine so I would think the shafts are okay.
TRanny shop fixed the park and roll problem it was the tranny, and they fixed the shifts and it shifts quite nicely just keeps on pullin.. Now i need a shifter cable cause it is stuck in od and shifter is stuck in n so when i start it i have to hold the brake down since it is in od and starts without key cause it is always in on position!
