lol i actually thought this'd be pretty neat, after all there ain't much out there to change if you wanted to swap in say a vette rear. width might have to be narrowed but it's certainly do able.

Re: Independent rear end?

seems lik i´m going to get my hands on a dana 44 irs out of a zr1(c4) here in austria. I actually planed on 4-linking my rear, but depending on price for the irs, I´d rather use that.
I got a couple of questions concerning the conversion:
the correct ratio is 3.42, right?
does the zr1 rear come with limited slip already?if not, what should I use.
Is it possible to get our abs adapted or should I ditch it?
the fabrication seems doable, with 3 mounting points for the diffcase and 2 mounting points for the trailing arms.the only conversion kit I found is for older ford trucks.

Re: Independent rear end?

So from everything I just read it's not really worth the cost vs. benefit to use Vette rear ends. OK, what can be done to beef up the stock front differential? It would be nice to have the same half shafts at all 4 corners and not need different offset rims any more.

All Corvette's came with limited slip rear ends. Our original ratio is 3.42:1, ZR-1 came with 3.45:1, this is close enough to use.

Re: Independent rear end?

thanks!

I still have no price for the rearend yet, but if the price is right (~1000 for the whole unit) I wont let it slip.
