Intake manifold pic needed.

As the topic states. I need a CLEAR picture of the intake manifold while bolted onto the truck with no pleneum on.

I forgot which hangers get double bolts and which get the single.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Yeah, it actually does. I had it figured out most of the way but just wanted to make sure i had the double nuts in the right locations.
The Rear Passenger side engine loop is a regular bolt correct?

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

I believe so, you see where it's clean on the manifold. I leave that bracket off. One less thing in the way to get to the dist hold down.

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Which bracket are you talking about? Only clean spot i see is the Map/EGR/coil bracket area.
Then again ive had a helluva lot of beers this evening haha.

New cap/rotor tonight. Expecting new plugs/wires from hood, hell after that i should be runnin well.
Im still a little leary about setting timing but hell, there is only one way to learn huh?

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Very last bolt, pas side. There's a little hangar that bolts there and does nothing but get in the way.:rant:Even if you use it to install the motor I'd remove it afterward.

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Anyone have any timing tips for me that i should know about other then the tan wire?

Rotor is facing cylinder 1 and the marks i made on the dist seem to line up well.
I bought a new cap/rotor lastnight. I was inspecting stuff and found a nice crack through the rotor. Good a time as any.

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

When re-routing my damn metal IC lines and replacing them i snapped the electrical harness connector off the temp sensor, then overtorqued it and caused this...

Oh and all of this started because of quite a bit of knock, and i believe it to be crappy octane fuel now heh.

Should be running by this weekend!

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

I just pulled the old plugs out of the drivers side, all 3 were gapped anywhere from .042 and .053
Wow..

UR6 gapped at .027 here we come!

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Actually gaped that far? Amazing if so. Ya sure they weren't just worn a bunch? It will prolly run just a tad better with correctly gaped new plugs. Ya think? :D

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

I think so.

They didnt look worn all that much. It looked to me like they were just gaped that far.

And after every DTC code and vac line i think i finally solved my poor idle heh. Idle wasnt THAT terrible it just wasnt that consistant.

Hell when i start it up i think ill have a new truck!

Re: Intake manifold pic needed.

Welp, starting her up again tomorrow.

Cranked it over yesterday and im obviously 180 off on the dist. When i filled the radiator back up i noticed the paper gasket for the T-stat had failed and was leaking into the lower intake. So i made another trip to Vatozone and snagged a 160 and some RTV and laid it on thick.

Intercooler is primed and running good. SO tomorrow all i have to do is crank the dist back around to 6, swap it 180, and set the timing. Im stoked. My s10 has done nothing but shit on me in 2 days. Tire blew out and took the RR cladding off and mashed up the bed side pretty good, Tow guy messed up some wiring on the underside of the truck causing my system to stop working. In the process of getting towed my pipes were mashed into the ground pretty good and warped all to hell.
Damn DD.

So tomorrow will either put a smile on my face (if the syty gods let this thing start with no issues) or make me trade my DD in heh.

I think you must have meant onto not "into." This shouldn't be an issue. Make sure you've got the the stat and the gasket positioned correctly.
