It doesnt work like that. Call up any good header builder whether it be in the National Dragster, etc and start looking for quotes for 304 .065" stainless v6 turbo headers with merge collectors, purge welded, etc and i dont think you will find anyone who quotes you under $2500. You cant compare mediocre quality to someone that knows what they are doing.

I understand that, I was just saying. If we're all bitching about the price (which seems to be the man factor, doesnt it?) then why build something only a few (you guys with the cash flow and the realy fast trucks) of us could aford. :dunno: Thats why I said what I did. Dont make them *the* best headers out there no matter what when just something better will do.

(Not trying to flame you Ghetto. ;))

Guy at Rockford Race craft already made the front mount trans cooler thingyyy

Works great and looks nice.

Funny you mentioned this. As i am looking at five different front supports. One factory adjustable one (pas prototype), factory steel one, China Steel one, fiberglass version and factory aluminum one.

So long story short i am looking at making a tubular mount for the gt. I would be very interested to see pics of what you have made. I know i could sell the shit out of them.

Re: Interest In New Products

I know that good headers seem like a lot of money, but when you think about just how bad the exhaust set up is on stock SYTY's it may be worth it. It depends on just how much power you can pick up. I know in dsm land that the big thing to do is just port stock 2g cast manifolds or EVO 3 stock manifolds from japan, beacuse these make just much hp for alot less. The tubular manifolds do help with spool up, but the hp levels between a ported one and a full on SS one are very very close. I doubt that you could sell very many top quality header sets. People just don't have the money to blow on 2500$ for headers, no matter how nice they are. If we could get some tests between say stock/ATR/real with burns merge collecters ect we could see if the dollar to hp ratio is worth it. IE people may be tempted to plop down the money if you pick up 50 hp on a mild turbo, vs stock headers, but not if ATR's will give you 45 for half the cost. Plus you can integrate a real support for the turbo so theres not cracking. I've heard that even with a support, and no matter how good the header, they're just going to crack eventualy on daily driven cars but how many people on here actualy dd a sy/ty? I know i've only put about 400 miles on mine in the 6 months since I bought it.

Re: Interest In New Products

My custom headers have been in place for about 3 ½ years no cracks!
They are made of 304L SS they have been heat cycled so many times
they are black! Personally I think merge collectors are a waste of money
on a turbo application the V- band couplings are a must. Way spend
big money CNC flanges so when you get done welding they’ll have to be
surfaced any way. Lazar cut flanges work guest as well for half the money.
Gale Banks will sell you a small block twin turbo crate motor from
600-1200 hp. All of witch have cast iron manifolds!!! De burr your
stock manifolds and find some other place to spend $1000.00-$1500.00.
I bet if you sent the extra doe on your heads and/or turbo you would see
more than 20 hp gain! IMO

600hp maybe, 1200 doubtful seen as how the manifolds wont work with tall valve covers, and even a t04e compressor cover without a spacer.

As for the header question, i think there are way more BIG builds then alot of you guys are aware of.. These builds consisting of cylinder heads whose exhaust ports are WAY bigger then a set of ported vortecs, or have angled spark plugs and wont pysically work with the ATR's. I would like to see the KB style encorporated into a nice set of stainless headers. I like the idea of being able ro run many aftermarket cylinder heads, and run a t4 turbine housing which gives you many more options for housings. Some of you guys may want to follow Nolans build, as we are finishing up on his headers, but he will be constructing his own crossover pipe for single turbo. maybe he will be able to offer his crossover separately?
