I have a correct syty GM replacement engine (part# 12515321) on the stand that I have a couple of questions about.
1. On the orig syty engines, as well as the correct replacements, do the main caps NOT have any part # cast into them? On the main caps on the eng I have there is only an arrow to let you know which way to put them on. No part #. Thats the first time Ive ever seen that on a factory GM eng of any type. All of em Ive ever had apart had part numbers cast into them.
2. Could someone that has a set of orig syty pistons laying around take a look at the inside of the piston (where the wrist pin/rod is) and let me know if there are any numbers there. The ones in this eng have numbers cast into the inside of the piston skirt on the cam side.
TIA
