I'm leaving Italy in Feb if your still interested

Where you going? I'm staying in place for another 3 years.

Thats the funny part. I have NO idea! I'm retraining and going to FLETC (federal law enforcement training center) on the 31st of May. I just found out all this stuff yesterday so I have to get my Ty ready to ship..which means getting a new pump and dropping the trans AGAIN. Good news is that I have to go to the NCO Academy in Kaiserslautern first. I'll be up there from 22 Feb until 31 Mar. Germany rocks and I miss it. Your lucky you get to stay there.

If it is any consolation there was an E-6 MP here in Germany that had already dropped his packet to leave the Army and didn't do shit for his E-7 board (11 yrs service...me and him both 93 HS grads) when he was picked up out of the blue for E7. Go figure 'eh?

No he doesn't know what to do.

Mike was here yesterday with his new truck, good looking truck.
installed missing propshaft, made a DM run, and ordered parts for tune up.
truck runs good, and shifts firm.
he''s going to remove the rails on the roof, and will be repainted
and gave him a ride in my truck ;)

Hello!

I´m the owner of sy 2307 here in Austria. Bought it of an inpound lot auction in july 2004 for 6000$ with 70k on it.Didn´t have a chance to start it up prior to the auction and was lucky that it only had a blown headgasket. I replaced the gasket and put like 5000 miles on it last summer without any probs. I did the usual mods, replaced the DS with a Gilbert and I´m in the process of installing a ITS 44 with the 3" DP and the Ultimate which I bought from RPM.We only have about 2 QM races a year here in Austria so my focus is more on driveabillity and low-end torque rather than low et. I already orderd Mikes CO-kit and will 4-link the rear for a better handling.I hope to have it on the street again by the end of May.

Hi, I'm the owner of a Typhoon here in Norway. I've recently discovered this forum, and it's been very helpful allready.
I've had my truck for 2 years now, I was 22 when I bought it. 190.000 nok (about 25k $) was the price for a Ty with 86k miles on it.
2 months later, I got a real strange sound from the engine, it turned out to be a conncting rod bearing that failed. I did a full overhaul, and it's been runnning great since.

Here's a pic http://www.siggerud.net/typhoon.jpg
thats a fine lookin truck love the red its hot!

Sounds like you got an awesome deal!

If I could find a $6K Syclone that only needed a head gasket, I'd already have one. :D

He needs to keep packing his bags and move on. There are enough slugs in the senior ranks as it is w/o adding one more. Just my .02 worth

Re: International SyTy Check-In

yea, I guess I made the deal due to the fact that nobody at the auction knew what a Syclone is. Also the body of the truck was in a rough shape (rust under cladding, no cover for the bed, no OG rims and a paintjob that was obviosly done with a rattlecan during a sandstorm) , but as long as I can smoke my buddy´s 95 Impala ss I´m happy.

Hi All

Anders from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Just bought my black/black 1993 Typhoon back from the guy I sold it to 4 years ago. Still in pretty good shape, 102K miles, with about 20K on engine, suspension, axles.

Because of crazy car taxation here, most Ty´s have had their rear seats deleted to make it a commercial vehicle. My Ty is one of only 2 in the country with full interior ...

Hey Anders,

I was going to drive quickly across the border into Denmark in September but I see that Copenhagen is nowhere near the German / Denmark border. Let us know if you need any help.

Sounds familiar, do you have the same "varebil" rules as we have here in Norway?
e.g You can put the rear seats back in for free when the car has been in the country for >10 yrs.

I might not be across the pond but im across the river, lol. I live in Mexico and I own Syclone 2175.

!
How hard is it to get a Typhoon or Syclone into Mexico? I know there are certain restrictions about brining a truck in from the United States? I think it has be a certain number of years old? I was just wondering. I actually think that I am going to move to Mexico to live at some point, some place like Puerto Vallarta or Veracruz. Some place that isn't really "americanized". That would be like 5-15 years down the road though. Just wondering how difficult it would be to bring a truck or for that matter, even an american car into mexico? I know when I was in Mexico City they had a VIPER at a dealership, so is it only trucks, or trucks and cars but there is some loophole around it? Also, are they selling SATURN in Mexico yet? And are VW's still the main mode of transportation down there?

Ty #2065 Brazil
Re: International SyTy Check-In

Own Ty 93 #2065 in Brazil. I bought the truck with 48K miles on March 2002. Now has only 52K. As I live in Miami since the beginning of 2002, I'm not able to drive the truck very often. Just spent U$4000 with paint, same black color as original. Currently looking for a Sy or Ty in the Miami area.

I think that's a first for SyTy.net. At least in my recollection we haven't had any owners show up from Australia or New Zeland.
