Is this paint combo stock?

Did they offer the Red/Red combo in 92 from the factory? My friend just bought a 92 and it is this combo. We were curious to see if it was repainted.

Yes, Apple Red/Apple Red was available in '92, but not too many have shown up. Check the paint code on the sticker in the glove box if you want to be sure. WA-7475 is the red/red paint code.

The TY in question is my 1992. Built 10/02/91. These are the numbers directly off of the RPO sheet in the glove box. The bottom line reads WAEM WA-L7475 U7475 18I and in the bottom right corner has Order #T33123.

You might be right. I just saw that there were 8 '92s listed on Sportmachines with Apple Red/Apple Red listed as their original color. Sometimes the owners are wrong though. sytyarchives says that red/red wasn't available until '93. I'd just look at the paint code and see what it says.

Didn't you mention something about there only being 8 red/red 92's in the regristry? Where do you find this info? Thanks

Timbo, youre giving a little bit of false information here, you cannot go off the RPO decal, the Upper and Lower paint codes seem to be identical reguardless of Argent Gray cladding or body color cladding is on the truck. I believe this is do the the fact that the RPO decal was affixed to the truck before going to PAS, where the cladding was later installed. My White/White and my White/Gray have the same paint codes and mine are both original colors, and ive seen numberous other Argent cladding trucks with the same paint codes.

Also, out of those 8 suppposed '92 Red/Reds on Sportmachines, only 5 of them have pictures and 4 of them show at least one sign of being repainted or having some sort of paintwork done, so Im still not convinced there was a factory Red/Red in 1992. :tdown:

So unless Merk shows up saying he has paperwork from PAS documenting that there was more than 1 Red/Red 92, im not buying it.

Okay. I thought that one of the numbers was cladding color (perhaps the LXXXX), but I see that Royal Blue/Argent Grey is WA-L9095 U9095, so there goes that theory. I'm still not convinced that there aren't any red/red '92s.

Yes, L is for lower and U is for upper. All that I have seen have been correct but there's always that "ONE" that isn't.

My SoGT's both seem to be correct... and we all know they are '92's
Then again, I have paint on the body itself. the cladding doesn't cover the doors.

as far as the research ive looked at, there are NO 92 red/reds produced.

Means that on May 14th, 1992, Truck # N0811810 was produced ALL RED
