Ok it was not a good decision on my part but it seems like a good one at the time.
Sy transmit ion went out on the coldest week of the year (12-? -02) in Indiana
I had no funds what so ever and didn’t know much about sy-ty.net at the time or people in my area that could help find a sy-ty transmition.
So Jasper gave me a good deal WITH OUT Vaseline.
What did I care it was cheap! And they offered a direct replacement.
Then while installing it Mr. Trans messes up one trany line so the try to find one it’s
Out of stock at GM so they rubber it up get it done yada yada yada caching .
As I’m diving away I notice that it won’t pull down into 1st.gear (linkage)
Well, they fix it And then it shifts like a mule from P to D WHAT NOW?
Don’t know to this day what that was, oh well .
I begin to notice the stall range is not the same so after being fed up with it for so long I e-mailed the a letter calling there bluff on a quote I fond online
“JASPER remanufactured products are built to industry specifications that are equal to or more exact than those used by the original equipment manufacturer”

I wrote an e-mail telling them they didn’t build the one I have correctly.
They finally get a hold of me. Apologizing out there miserable asses,But it did not matter I just want it fixed.They supposedly put Lt1 vaulve-bodie,
Corvette clutches corvette pump and a supper servo in it

Honestly it feel like only a shift kit. That’s why I requested an itemized build list for this trans. If it ever goes out I’m pulling it apart to see if
They did put this crap in it or just drilled it here filled it there.
So they offered to pay an installer or me
45.00 hr x7.4hrs.To put in the correct one.
Well I have the new stall converter(not the first one Iwas supposed to receive)
Yeah Fed Ex lost the first one!!Hahahahah!
Jasper overnighted one to me. So there is still another one floating out there
Somewhere last known at Memphis TN. Monday I’m taking it to a local shop to have it installed since I have exhausted all vacation waiting for the fist stall converter. Just letting you all know you aren’t the only ones …….well you know ! What do you all think,other than get the Vaseline first next time?

That's what you get for going with the cheapest deal. Chances are you don't have your original tranny anymore. There is no diifference in the pump. Super servo to them will be an 093 servo that your syty had in it anyway.
I wouldn't gripe anymore about the tranny since you got such a good deal on it. They made out better getting your original tranny from you. Damn things probably been parted out and all over a rebuild warehouse in Mexico right now. Oh well.

Huge clunk from P to D= sticking valves in aux valve body or broken spring in the accumulator for the aux valve body. Auxillary valve body was added in 1987 to take care of this problem. Wouldn't that just be funny as hell if they put an old 1986 and prior unit in there? You definitely got a good deal ::eek:k::

I duess it is a good thing that they are making good on there part

I never had a sy-ty trans to begin with,when we were looking at it

the owner told us it had been replaced.I could'nt feel any diff

Between it and a reg. st ty trans But the Jasper was way out of the norm
