The link to this image is listed a test shot, so all detail is probably not there yet, but it looks pretty accurate.

That red is the color they use for test shots. I'm certain that the production units will look different. Also, I'm pretty sure that linking to the image does violate their terms of use.

should have did it without the roof rack. Better yet, should have did it in Teal. YES!! would have looked awsome..

It's ugly 'cause it's not done yet. Wait for final paint and details. That's just a test shot.

Just noticed something new... looks like JL is scheduled to put out *** 3 *** Typhoons this year alone. Supposedly the first one will come out this month in Truckin' America R2 (described as a '92 GMC Typhoon). In October, Truckin' America R3 is scheduled to include a '93 Chevy Typhoon (Not my typo... quoted from Milezone.com). Also in October, a '92 GMC Typhoon will be included in the Calendar Cars set.

In the past, Calendar Cars were usually a set of 12, each with a different girl pictured on the package and a small card with a given month's calendar included. For some reason, there are only 4 cars in this realase, so I'm not sure how that's going to change things.

I haven't heard anything about colors yet, but I'll post the information as I get it. I've already pre-ordered several of each, so I might even get lucky enough to get some White Lightnings out of the deal.

Alright, I confirmed that the "Chevy Typhoon" plan came direct from JL, so I've emailed them to try to steer the ship back on course. Otherwise I'll be looking closely for rediculous Bowties on some tiny grills come this fall.

Maybe I'm the only one still following this. JL never responded to my "Chevy Typhoon" inquiry, other than a generic message that my question had been forwarded to the appropriate people. A few days later, I learned that JL has decided to cancel several releases previously scheduled for 2008. Two of those releases are Truckin' America R3 and Calendar Cars... that seems to leave only Truckin' America R2 (scheduled to be released any day now) with a Typhoon in 2008.

Also, I believe I know what color the Ty will be: Chrome. Recently, every first time casting has been released in a Silver Chrome finish, which I believe they will continue when the Typhoon comes out. Here's a couple of recent chromies:

That's what it looks like... my guess is that we'll see the casting released a bunch more times in the future, but probably not again until this winter or later. Maybe they'll even put the Syclone and the Typhoon in the same release eventually.

Milezone's just listed their Truckin' R2 and there is NO Typhoon there!!


Can anybody who ordered the sets verify/deny that this is true??

Have we been :banghead: screwed again??

EDIT: I checked out 1stopdiecast and they have the new updated release list and a Typhoon is NOT listed.....
