This sucks, 4 extinguishers? Do you think if you would have had just one on hand that you could have put it out with it in time?

I doubt it, fuel fires aren't exactly easy to put out. Plus most of the extinguishers I've seen in cars aren't large enough to put out a cigarette.

With one on hand it would have helped. I couldnt get the hood back open so I had to try to put it out through the gap...

You're lucky. Here's what I've been working with. I'll post some up-dated pictures tomorrow. Some of the "old-timers" may remember this project as "The Resurrection", started by Jack Wilburn in September, 1999. I purchased it from him in Feb 2000 and towed it back to Los Angeles. This truck should have NEVER been saved. $25,000 and counting. And it's stock.

I must have overtightened it and made it weak... The bolthead was in one of the crevices in the lower inake manifold...

I will get it back on the road soon. Just gotta start finding parts. It is now at my dad's house airing out. Whew does it stink...

Good luck with the smell....I had my Jimmy catch fire.. (When I welding in a new firewall) and every once and a while, I can smell that stench of "Oh crap, my trucks on fire!"

Sorry to hear it. Look at it this way, you get the chance to really clean up the underhood of your truck now and make it look brand new :tup:

Hope insurance covers it and if you can't find a harness Im sure you could have an aftermarket made. Are they much different from a 90-92 TPI? I havent found any differences other than pin locations on the ECM and the number of injectors.

Got a fuel rail too, but I think it's for a Ty.

What else do you need? I can send you your ECM back, too.

You could use it as an excuse to put stainless stuff in to run alky....

I didnt get much pulled off this weekend. I spent the time I had with the trailer picking up my 66 mustang convertible and bringing it to the house. I need to get a driver working and the mustang is realy close. Plus it dosent stink! I pulled out the battery and found out that it is in great shape! Whew it was brand new! The ATR battery relocate saved it...

Yes it is... The 5.0 is ready and the wiring harness is nearly done. And it's not stinky...
