....by fmic do you mean turning it into a air to air front mount, becuase i have the factory liquid front mount mounted in front of my radiator- unfortunatley it doesnt get much airflow there either because of there being no grill, so if you have any ideas for that would be cool, and as for the fact that im puting vortecs on it witha bigger cam you would recommend 3.08 or 3.23 with the size tires on my car?
Most people forget that the Firebird is a bottom feeder( it draws air from the bottom of the car to cool the radiator), make sure that you keep the bottom air dam that direct the air up to the radiator.
1. At what angle did you mount the stock intercooler ?
2. Did you change out the intercooler pump ?
Most stock intercooler pumps are worn out at 90,000 miles. My intercooler stays cool to the touch after I made a blade of death scoop to force more air into the intercooler and run the pump full time, I do realize that your would have to be a custom install. If you do a search, you can find it on this site to get a idea for your car, but keep in mind the low ground clearance that is common with your type of car.
I would still stay with the 3.08 or 3.23 gears with a 26" tall tire. I know that you would like to go with a 6 speed, but with the weight of your car (it's alot lighter than a Typhoon) you will be alot happier with the auto and you can still do your burn outs for as long as you want because of the torque it makes. Being that it is 2wd I don't think you will break the trans (unless you get it to hook up really well).
