K&N air cleaner and Brake booster hose

I just wanted to tell everyone I picked up two mods that I didn't think were that big of deal until I put them on.

First is the K&N I got from RPM, not the flat one but the cone, is SICK!! I can hear my turbo spool so clearly now that its music to my ears. No mistaking if my truck is boosted or not. :turbo: Exactly what I want to hear from my truck. No relocating the battery either.

2nd, if any of you are having problems with a funny noise while pushing on the brake pedal get this mod. Another gem from RPM is their brake booster line. Didn't expect it to fix my problem but it did the trick.

Now I have the sound I wanna hear and got rid of the sounds I didn't. My truck seems to be coming along great.

When I first got her I was kinda trippin, I wondered how the hell I got myself into this mess. My truck was running like S**T! After the above mentioned mods along with new injectors, new IC pump and hoses, deep pan tranny cooler, tires, standard tune up plus wires, this B*TCH is runnin great. Sounds and feeling more like the real deal with every change. DAMN these trucks ROCK! :headbange

A shot out to RPM for making it easy for me to find the stuff I need. :tup:

nice to hear! good job on getting the truck running, hopefully we can get together with the norcal guys soon.

quick question - do you have datamaster?

Not yet, I was just looking at the cables today. 90 bucks wow, so I'll be shopping around for a bit. I got the datamaster link and crack though.

Yeah, a get together would be nice.

Which noise? My truck makes this sort of electronic growling/ quacking (best I could think of), is that the one?

That's the one. The duck quack gets fixed by replacing the brake booster check valve, either with a black plastic GM part or the RPM shiny metal version. Its pretty high on my list too.

really... my truck has made that noise since the day we bought it... my mother thinks it's haunted :lol:

This is awsome to know. I'm sick of my 7 year old asking me what the heck is under the dash board! I didn't have a clue what was doing it.

So will that brake booster hose stop the creep I have at stop lights? When I am at lights, and I'm not paying attention it will creep up...

When you install the K&N filter what do you do with the tube from the valve cover to the stock airbox. It is the breather i think it is called. Do you just leave it alone and let it breath what it can. Maybe get a little K&N for that, just an idea.

I believe that line goes to the pcv valve under the upper ic and is used for dumping recicled air back into the intake track.

Oh yeah mine had a steel tube with a filter on it.. I removed that and put a push in style breather in it's place.
