I entered my 93 Ty and my 2000 Vette in the Northwest Motor Fest car show. They have a holeshot contest, just 150 feet, but you can run against 1 of the close to 1000 vehicles there.

On the first run down I went against my Fiancee (she was driving my 00 Vette). The Ty absolutly killed the vette. I had a advantage since my fiance really does not know what she is doing.

After the run there was a stream of people coming over to the Ty to find out more about it. It was great to be able to educate a ton of car buffs about our trucks!!!

On the second time through I went against a 60's 427 Shelby Cobra. My foot sliped off the gas about 1/2 way down the track and I still beat him!!

I will have three more runs tomorrow. I will let you all know what I go against and how I do.

Hell yeah. I've heard of some 100' drags near Boise before, any pics of the track? You just setup in a big parking lot?

Update:

It is a 100' track not 150'. I took pics of the track and all the cars I went against. I will post them as soon as I get them off of my camera. They will most likely have pics on the event website soon as well. I will keep you all posted.

Sunday 1st round:

I beat a 60's Cutlass and I had the AC turned on.

Beat a Blown Nova with huge tires on the back, he was PISSED.

Then the announcer brought me to the front of the line to beat what he thought was the fastest car running a 53 Ford. I beat him as well.

SO on the second round no one would race me so the announcer set it up for me to go against a full drag race GTO Judge that is in the 140mph club at the local drag strip. We were to run 2 out of 3. On the first pass he barely beat me by less than a foot, On the second pass the announcer was still talking to me when they went green and I lost by about 10 feet. I was jacked even though I lost becuase I never thought it would do so good against a car like that!!

The Typhoon was the star of the show at the drags.

For the last race they had me go up against one of those little drag race lawn mowers just for fun. I don't think I had left the line by the time he hit the finish, man those things can move.

Some of those mowers kick ass! What's your setup, is it stock? Sounds like some good runs.

Did the nova know you were awd and turbo? I don't understand why he would be pissed considering he is racing a awd turbo vehicle for a whole shot contest...lol

Thats like you getting pissed because he won on a top end race :rotf:

The nova guy was some old fart who kinda snickered when I asked him to race while we were lining up. He was talking to some buddies and one of them got in his car and rode with him after I challenged him. Obviously he was not conserned about weight at all. He had no idea what hit him. That was the funnest win!!

On the first race when I lined up against my vette, tha announcer laughed about a pickup going against a vette. When I came back around for the race with the Cobra, he told the Cobra to watch out and told the crowd to make sure and watch the race. By the end of the show the were all kinds of rumors, like I was running a twin turbo V-8, one guy even heard I was running a Ferrari engine. So I proudly kept the hood open and set the record straight.

I wish I could find a 100' drag around here, that would be fun as hell!

So did they just wave a flag to start the race, or do like a x-mas tree style like in drag racing?

They use an old traffic light to start the race and have two spotters, one on each side of the track to pick the winner.

The only problem is they line up at the start by the wheels, but the winner is whos nose crosses the line first. The race with the gto would most likely been dead on if we would have lined up by noses instead of wheels
