Re: LA or SF for business?

attitude(sp) is everything, if you make up your mind that cali sucks, it will.

I've never been to cali and felt the same way about it as you do. But, there were 2 guys from the wrong coast at nationals this year and chelo last year and they were pretty cool. So now I'll try to keep an open mind about 'that place'. :p

Re: LA or SF for business?

Hey Nats. Long time no hear from you. Lately I've been almost acting like a tour guide for my company. Many guys from the Boston, Chicago, and many other places have been down here for business. I gave the Boston guy a real tour of the city. From The well known places to the not so well know. I guess he's telling everyone now to call me and have me show them the city.
Typoonracer was here about 1- 1/2 ago. He wanted to see the bridge but there was so much fog that he really could not get some good pics.
Let's us know know where you are and maybe a couple of us in the area can meet up.

You guys watch too much TV...you'd think the whole region was colored in rainbows. It's not. There's the business district, Presidio, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf (touristy, sure), Sausalito, Tiburon, Muir, etc etc.

It's a great city and NorCal is a great part of the country. I even know a few conservatives up there (sure, they're miserable, but the terrain makes up for the politics of the place). You're lucky to be going Eric. (I'm going in Dec. with family)
That would be me. The conservative stuck in hippie NorCal...lol...Or at least Eureka/Arcata, CA (which is really full of hippies and bums) I've always viewed the east coast as being weird, but I've never been there. Hopefully this summer I might be out in NJ. My buddy's family owns a couple of nurseries out there (Princeton/ and I think Pleasant Run?) so I might be staying on his estate and visiting out there  I'd kind of like to move out there when I finish college but I don't know yet.

What's really funny is reading about all the stereo types of the West Coast :rotf:

Can't really blame you though, I thought the East Coast was a bunch of over-conservative, preppy, bad pizza eating, high rise building, snobby, jerks, until I went there
Pizza still sucks though

You East Coasters want a real thrill, go to an Oakland Raiders game (at home) wearing the opposing teams jersey and try not to get killed ;)

Roy you thought people on the east coast were conservative? :rotf: Only someone from frisco would say that.
I was going to try the pizza if I ever went there, thanks for the heads-up. I am going to try the chowder, thou... :D

Eric, traffic sucks at midnite? Another reason to hate cali? Roy will show you the best parts of 'the city' and you'll forget all about the islands. Do they let you have dogs there? I heard they were only going to let you have a dog if you 'adopted' it. They didn't like people owning pets because some people put them to sleep if they were sick. If you adopted it you would have to provide for it's care as long as it was alive, just like a human child.

In this area traffic can be bad anytime day or night  But when the traffic is moving free you can usually go 80-85mph and no one cares

I've never heard of the get a dog thing, there are laws to what dogs you can have. IIRC you can't have a pit or a rot, I think that's right.

The biggest reason I love it here is the weather. It's the middle of Nov. and I'm still running around in shorts and a tee shirt. Yeah the taxes are screwed up, cost of living is too high, and vehical emissions are rediculous, but the women are beautiful and that's all I need :)

Oh and if your lucky enough that your SyTy runs, you don't have to store it for the winter!

Re: LA or SF for business?

Roy I posted about dogs because Eric was talking about moving to the islands IF his g/f can take her dogs. Unless you mean you never heard about the dog 'adoption' deal. I think that was a proposed law and if you don't have dogs you probably wouldn't have paid any attention. I never heard if it passed and that was only in 'the city'.

Show him a good time. This is your chance to turn a cali hater into a cali lover.

I'm not a hater.. its nice here.. a little expensive, but its not a bad suburb.. traffic is apparently universal, east/west there is always traffic..

the plan is to try and get up to napa tonight to meet up with Don W.. then hopefully tomorrow night hangout with roy for a bit.
