My car isn't a GNX. Just an 87GN. Everything now a days is only worth what someone would pay for it.

There is something so unique about the Syclones. It is the badest truck that ever came out of Detroit. Since it only made it into production in 1991, there is only one true first truck. In 92 there only were just a few made and certainly away from the public like all the rest of the prototypes before and after 91. If this truck is number 1, it has the potential of being sought for and I am sure that a true car enthusiest would give top dollar for it.

I found something else they only made one of...hopefully. Thought u'd be interested.

0001 to the best of my knowledge was a daily driven truck. Last I knew, it was in CA; beaten to shit. I'd be curious to see the pics. From what I was told, it was in pretty rough shape.

As such, be prepared to spend some serious $$ getting it to the quality and shape you "think" it would bring on the auction block.

We'll see the truth next week when he comes to look at the Buick. I'll keep in touch when I see it and let you guys know if its the real deal or just a fluke.

IMO keep/sell the Buick and just find a nice no mile Sy to buy.

I agree.....especially since the VIN has absolutely nothing to do with order of production. What collectors look for are low mileage MINT examples of a certain rare OR desireable vehicle and in some extreme cases, mileage doesn't even play into the equasion. Watch Barrett's sometime and you will see how little value the buyers place on a VIN. Either way you go on 0001, I wish you the best since all production Syclones VIN 1500 and less have more problems than those above that number, based on the PAS video .

my sy is #416, 120k miles, stock motor, stock tranny, stock turbo.. rusted thanks to the east coast, but solid as a rock.

I already have a Sy. It runs and drives great... I just came across this one right after I bought the one I've got. I still would trade strait up. I just don't really like buicks. It is a big car that has a tremendous amount of body roll while turning. Runs good though :D.

I bought this Sy to lightly modify. Injectors, chip, turbo, full exhaust, meth injection. No more than 22 psi of boost. I know John at Waller Performance really well, so soon the truck will be a screamer here in the next several months.

Pretty much what I gather from you guys is 0001 isn't an investment...

That is about the most truthful statement on here. Matter of fact, I would expound on it a bit and say that anything gasoline propelled is not a good investment, especially at this point in time.

Re: Look what the newby found!

I do make money on cars but I buy them when people want them gone or dont know what they are worth, but those are getting harder to find every day, and I put zero money into them other than what I pay for them

I'd like to have VIN 0001. Beat up is gooder, doesnt take much to restore these trucks...

Servando might like to take a stab at it too.

I think at this time its not cost effective to restore a worn SyTy. It doesn't mean you can't fix one up, but full restoration is losing investment you won't even get your money back.

Truckless. For now.

yah, but for those of us crazy enough to own one, I would say the majority do it out of love/hate, with no interest in an investment. :dunno: I love to hate mine.

I'd like to have #0001 too, but I wouldn't pay $50 more for it than any other number truck in similar condition. Hell, I'd rather have #0007 or #0008 (huge 007 fan, and 008 is my quasi nickname)
