yah, but for those of us crazy enough to own one, I would say the majority do it out of love/hate, with no interest in an investment. :dunno: I love to hate mine.

depends how cheap you get it for, cheap to restore one of these trucks if the drivetrain is good

I'd like to have #0001 too, but I wouldn't pay $50 more for it than any other number truck in similar condition. Hell, I'd rather have #0007 or #0008 (huge 007 fan, and 008 is my quasi nickname)

I think Cartman has #0007

edit: n/m he has #0011

I am friends with John Waller and I got into some discussions on how far to go with the Syclone. He says for reliability and the least amount of problems, keep it as stock as possible. Staying with stock ECU with chip, stock style hybrid turbo, and all your basic mods for high 11's low 12's, it will be fast enough to keep you interested but still be "turn key".

I haven't touched my Sy yet. It needs more umph up top. The bottom end it is pretty good for a stock turbo, but an upgrade will definately complement the truck.

So after 3 weeks of driving it daily, it does really well. A/C blows cold, gets 19 mpg even being hard on it.

That's my plan for my Typhoon. I'm keeping it mostly stock. I'm just doing some reliability/tuneability/driveability stuff. I don't have the go-extremely-fast bug...... yet.

Back on topic, I'd still like to see pics of #0001. It's a part of SyTy history and worth saving, if for nothing other than driving around.

Re: Look what the newby found!

It is confirmed and the authentic 00001 Syclone of 1991! He looked at my buick and will decide in the next few weeks what he wants to do.

The truck isn't in the best of shape, but still okay. It was used as a work truck and didn't have floormats in it for a while and the carpet is worn out. Paint is 80% factory. Runs and drives fine. We'll see how it turns out.

Don't get to excited about this. If he senses you are specifically interested because of the truck number (which means nothing, remember? It's not the first Sy produced) he will try to get more out of you. Just act like it is any other Sy. Because that is all it is.

Sweet. I think it would be awesome to own the first vin of the SY's. No matter what everyone else is saying. It might not be the first one built, but would still be cool to own 0001

No offense implied, but BFD. Spend the $ now or later, its your choice.

My voted is on a more cared for truck.
