I am new here and been watching and reading syty for better than a year.... but after 10 hours and $200 in gas on the road this weekend to look at a sy that was suppose to be a 8 1/2 - 9 overall I guess I better start looking somewhere else...

Would it be wrong to let other guys know the true condition of a syclone I looked at??? I have been a GM mechanic for over 20 years and took my son in law who is also a GM tech at a large metro detriot Cadilac dealer all I can say is wow why do people have to lie about there vehicals.....

You better pony up if you want a 10......otherwise, get an 8 or a 9 rating and clean it up yourself to a 10.

It would be wrong not to tell us to potentialy save someone else that may be on here looking at the same truck. Location, mileage, VIN, what you found, etc.

This is a great group. When you find another truck, if your not close by, ask here to see if someone is to go initially check it out for you before you burn gas money again. There are plenty of guys willing to go check out a truck for someone and help out.

Cool....some clean ones out there for sure. There's a 12,000 mile Syclone I posted in the members market area from Denvers craigslist that's nice, but pricey!

The first 2 I looked at were POS, I would have paid half of what the owners were looking for and it still probably wouldn't have worth it.

I have found some people over exagerate the condition, I found this out years ago. I don't assume anything, you have to ask the questions about everything.

the one I looked at was #1985 it was rusty! had a Macco paint job at best! didn't even bother to paint the underside of the blue hood?...(The pictures look real nice) lots of dents on the replaced box too with a thick coat of bed liner stuff to cover it all up.. a crappy job! painted over rust around front window lots of overspray did a crappy job of taping off when they painted it...

motor had a nasty upper end rattle and a lower end Knock and NO Power! My 08 silverado would of woop its A$$.....

Trans slips when going 2-3 and 3-4 shifts....

missing lower half of drivers side door panel 10 holes drilled in dash 2 cracks in dash pad headliner hits you in head when in the truck! drivers seat is wooped out...steering wheel looked crappy!

when I drove it it shook all over inside and made a loud popping noise in the front when I turned to the left....

The guy said the paint was a 10
the motor was a 8 1/2
interior was Quote (out of the wrapper New)
drives like a 10
he said he would drive it to vegas tommarow (good luck buddy)
he was asking $9700

Re: Looked at my first syclone wow what a P.O.S.

Here are some Quotes out of the emails he sent me!

Clear coat on the rims is strong still. There is very, very little pitting on the front fims. Alittle elbow grease and it would be fine. I will have one ot the boys at my dealership up north get it off. there is no flaking

the clear coat on the rims was flaking bad and there was 2 bent rims you could see them wobble as we were driving in the parking lot .....

Under the hood is very clean remember that I run a dealership so detailing is very easy to do.There is NO RUST anywhere on the truck

The bootom of the doors were rusty and the tailgate was about rotted out completely also had rust around front window and on the edge of the box....

The bed is in great shape. I never "help anyone move in it" nor have I ever hauled anything. Let me know if there is anything else

looked like he had been hauling scrap steel for years with it

Oh Yea forgot the best part he claimed 89K actual miles.... I ran a carfax and it had 97K in 1997 in Virginia and 124K in 2003 and showed an active lean on the title.. a new loan took out in feb 2008

That's why it's good to have a local board member check it out..first.

Re: Looked at my first syclone wow what a P.O.S.

theres a reason the pic's were taken the way they were.....like no pics from passenger side interior looking inward. a reason theres a glare on the dash.... no pics under hood no pic's inside of box or from underside of body! no close ups of inside of tailgate/bottom of doors the list would go on and on!!!!

I believe you.. Pics can be very deceiving. Too bad you didn't take some pics of all of the problems while you were looking at it.

Its frustrating how this guy can say that he has a dealership and how easy it is for him to detail/clean things then you get there and its a POS.
